Ok let’s go back to reality. I hope the kid does well. It would be nice to have someone on the team that brings more nasty. I don’t know if he will be allowed to as the coaching staff has leashes the aggressiveness out of all the others but we shall see. Anyone is an improvement over the likes of Lehtera.
In the grand scheme, Ghoul and the decision to bring him up is a fart in the wind. It’s just kind of another questionable decision.
Hope the kids do well, get some good ice time and Manning or Mac get a nice groin pull to let Sanheim back in. - flyer_nutter
I dont really see it as a questionable decision.
The Team thinks he is ready to play in the NHL so they brought him up.

No you won't. Maybe someone with an expiring contract or a vet with a year left on his deal gets dealt. Hextall won't do anything substantial to this roster til the off-season. I'd be shocked if he proves me wrong. - hereticpride

Giving another lackluster showing tonight against another rival, should solidify Haks position.
Come on everyone jump on the Vegas bandwagon, an expansion TEAM that is playing hard. Wow PEB must be happy, no severe cold, way bigger house for less $$ and a team that is winning. |

discredit you
- YuenglingJagr
Something you can't do.
I never said too much AHL time will hurt a player. Their development philosophy has shown to be two things...putting players into specific roles and overcooking prospects just so they can say they didn't ruin them by calling them up too early.
- YuenglingJagr
Again insinuates that they don't know what they're doing. As if developing Lindblom for a top 9 scoring line role and giving him AHL time is the wrong thing to do. Who determines if they're overcooked? You? This also insinuates that the Flyers main goal is to save face and are more worried about the optics of moves rather than the actual results. Obviously not the case yet it doesn't stop you from posting that it is.
We differ because I have an opinion and you just repeat what Hextall says all day. Development is a lot more than just how much time a player spends at lower levels. I didn't say they are incompetent at development, just that I disagree with their philosophy that keeping Lindblom in the AHL long enough will increase his NHL ceiling and in general have any positive effect on the prime years of his NHL career. That is where there is a lack of evidence. A player has to transition to the NHL at some point, and being in the AHL might prepare them better to make that transition, but when it is clear from actually watching a player (novel concept) that they are prepared I think the benefit is minimal.
- YuenglingJagr
You can have an opinion all you want. Doesn't mean that Hextall is wrong and you're right. What I'm actually saying and I'll repeat is that I don't know if Lindblom is ready or not and because of that, I'll defer to the experts. What evidence can you provide that calling up Lindblom now will make him the better player in the long run. No need for you to answer that because you can't. You can watch a player all you want, still just a random fans opinion just like mine.
Ultimately, I don't care too much if he gets called up now or a couple months, but that doesn't mean it isn't part of the issue that this team faces currently. If we want the Flyers to be playing to their potential, see progression, make the playoffs, they should be doing it with their best players, and we (as fans) have every reason to be critical of that not happening. - YuenglingJagr
The Flyers should not be putting the needs of the current team before the needs of any young players development. That is more important than making the Flyers a better playoff bubble team now.

That was his early career trajectory. He has become a reliable pker and more of an energy guy than a goon. He fights like rinaldo wildly throwing to make up for his size difference. He also skates well like rinaldo. That's about where the comparison ends. But I don't see how an ahl 4th liner truly benefits this team. But end of the day it also doesn't make us any weaker. I'm more frustrated by the insistence on roles. Imagine if the golden State warriors forced every player into a role instead of wings and post players. - Tfaehner
i have ZERO problem with the callup cause it means Lehtera sits. I want to see Lindblom over Weise in the lineup but ok fine they aren't going there yet. what does irk me is Sanheim sitting. play him or send him down so he is playing |

I also see it as a little tweak. The 4th line was a plus for the beginning of the season. now not so much since Raffl was moved up the lineup. This could help in making one line better while also bring some need grit to the lineup. he has also been killing penalties in LH so this could help there.
It's a small move.
I am sure if Lindblom keeps playing well we could see him soon and possibly Weal waived if he doesn't start producing more. |

Vegas is not warm enough for me. I'm waiting for an expansion team in Hawaii so I can move there and root for them.
We all no that the Hawaii Surfers will win a Cup before this inept, clueless, laughable, comical, can't make this stuff up franchise. Am I right?

Sanheim sitting is another role issue. Instead of allowing him to flourish in his element and sheltering him on d they are demanding defense from him and holding offense hostage until he shows better defense. Imagine if we did that to ghost ? |

To me ultimately a lot of this falls on management. I'm done blaming the players. They can't help what they're called on to do.
Hextall & Co try this rebuild on the fly bs and end up squandering yet another year of the Simmonds/G/Jake/Coots core. Either surround that core with players who can play(I don't care if they're vets or kids) or break up the core and move on. It's as simple as that. Surrounding that core with other teams trash (which is quite literally what Flip, Weise and Lehtera are considering their, play, cap hit, or a combination of the two) is a clear cut recipe for mediocrity.
Flyers have drafted extremely well on Hextall's watch. I just hate that they think they can put this slop around the core and think the fans should blindly buy in. |

Another contradiction. If it's so irrelevant then why are you, a young fan posting in reference too it? Are you insinuating that the Flyers are trying to build along those lines?
Another contradiction is that you repeatedly post that the Flyers lack aggressiveness and are too soft and lack emotion and that the coach strips them of that. Often post that they need to mix up after the whistle and "unleash the peanuts" Now here you are saying that they need to change their ways and move on from the Broad STreet Bullies history.

I think they hold that history in too high of a regard yes. Or too much loyalty to former Flyers.
Holmgren and Hextall. Lappy. Sure there are examples of men from outside the organization, and I’m sure the Zamboni driver didn’t try out once but I have no concrete proof there.

The only argument that can be made towards that is not playing him on the PP. Otherwise he is free to play aggressively offensively just like any other player on the team would be. Do you think if Sanheim had made the immediate impact that Gostisbehere made when he was first called up, that Sanheim's role and ice time would be increased?

Maybe to "fans" like you. I've only been following since 97 but can appreciate & respect everything that came before.
Just go jump on that Leafs wagon. Their red hot right now: 3-6-1 in their last 10. History is also irrelevant to them. That's why they threw a massive celebration of life for Johnny Bower yesterday. |

Yet the head coach is from outside the organization. I think you only focus on what fits your narrative and ignore what doesn't. None of what you post is relevant in my opinion.

What is happening with the ticket sales of the Flyers. I truthfully don’t know, but have heard they are falling. Season ticket sales.

This one literally makes no sense to me..
3rd game in a row where he is on the bench. Play him or send him down.
If it gets to 5 games where he is sitting Then I believe the Flyers are totally clueless. - opeth_pa
I thought sitting him against Bolts was good with the sole purpose of him watching how Hedman goes about his Business. Sitting 3 games is a brutal coaching decision.
