In my opinion, only serious injury keeps them from winning the cup. - madmike71
Look at their loss s to date & yes I know you can't win them all.
They've had some eastern conference games & had duck eggs. Those games (including the first 1 that wasn't a b2B for us), showed me that when they are put into a scenario against a team that has form they don't play their dominant game - it's more conservative & less effective. Call me crazy but I think when they are put to the test in à pressure situation things aren't going to go well for them.
Caps have been the surprise for me so far - with of course the Devils. |

"Trust the process" how long are you supposed to follow the process until you concede that it isnt working? Lack of results say the process is broken. Trust the results. Crikey, this team struggles to secure the "loser point". Afraid, its nearing time to flush - HiSticking
Trust the process is malarkey!
What happens if both teams trust the process? The 1 doing it better wins, or the 1 that changes their game to attack the opposition weakness wins. |

Isn't Kopitar also hitting free agency? - Victoro311
Signed extension last season didn't he? Or were they discussing it? |

I dunno about trust the process, we haven't had a good "process" yet this season, on top of sucking individually. We still sucked, but we finally used a more aggressive system tonight so I'm willing to wait for 5-10 games before mentally checking out (I was close until the last 2 games). If we keep doing what we did tonight and get crisper we'll be a way better team in a few weeks. |

There's only one word that should matter: Tavares. - Rinosaur
If he hits free agency they're throwing everything they've got at him. You saw Aho and TT. Imagine how they'd be with Tavares between them instead of J.Staal? |

Taveres will be playing in New York next year. Unfortunately for the Islanders, it will be with the team that plays in the Garden. |

So what does he say when team trusting the process plays another team that trusts the process, only doing it better?
Trust the basics, everything else should be gametome & in play decisions - line juggling anyone?
I can discuss line juggling if you want. Although I'm sitting on a beach in the hot sun so it's a little difficult. |

Haha I’m (frank)ing around. Trust the Process means something totally different in a Sixers context than it does in a hockey context. |

IDK about more aggressive. 12 registered SOGs thru 2 periods (at home against a team 1 point ahead in wild card) is simply not good enough. Its all water under the bridge cause the only stat that matters is number of goals for/ against. We are anemic |

This is the worst I've seen them play since their only "superstars" on the team were Milan Kraft and Rico Fata.

Based off guys who are currently UFA's next year that Pitt could realistically get:
Kane (7M?)-Sid-Sheary
Guentzel-Malkin-Sprong
Kessel-Bozak(3? 3.5?)-Rust
Simon-Sheahan-Jannik Hansen(1M?)
D and goalies remain unchanged. I would say that's a cup contender on paper and it doesn't require giving up any futures. But, I'd rather get Girgs and Kane to audition right now. Long-term, I'd much rather have Kane for 1M or 1.5M more than Horny to kind of bridge the gap between our 30-32 year olds and our early 20's guys
Maybe Buffalo doesn't want Hornqvist so maybe there's a 3 way trade partner out there (St.Louis to replace Schwartz who's out long-term? Maybe they give up a 1st+) where Buffalo gets picks, Hagelin and maybe a prospect from the third team, where Pitt gives up Hornqvist, a 1st rounder, and Hagelin and receives Kane and possibly Girgensons |
|
|
|
id be very surprised if theres not a trade made within the next 3-4 days. |

They need to load up Jakeys line. Something like:
Simon Crosby Hornqvist
Haglen Malkin Spronger
Sheary Guentzel Kessel
Kuhny Sheahan Reaves
Put a superstar on each line and play pick your poison. |

I think the Pens will more than likely be sellers at the deadline, not buyers. - Rinosaur
I think after 2 Stanley cups and 4 finals in the last decade if they crash and burn this season and get a high pick(and maybe more) in a very strong draft(fallen for Dahlen) it’s really not the worst thing in the world that could happen. Get them 5 months to rest and reload. It might be better in the long run. |
