I was definitely apathetic about the whole thing. There was never a reason to go when you know it's freezing cold out, they're gonna kill you with concessions as usual and at the end of the day, it's amateur hockey.

I think when you trade a guy like Hasek for Slava Kozlov, you're destined to be in rebuild purgatory.

It's year 3 of trying to win. You can say what you want about what happened before that, but they tanked for 2 years, they sold everything that wasn't nailed down.

Yeah the Pegulas have done a fantastic job bringing events here, but I think it's reached a saturation point.

That combined with the terrible Sabres, the resurgent Bills and terrible weather really killed momentum for this. I have a good amount of friends and family who 5 years ago would have talked about this event nonstop, and it didn't even register this year -- myself included
