Gerbe, I don't mean to pick on you specifically for this comment, but this is exactly indicative of the sort of binary relationship Sabres fans have with players.

Guys are either good or terrible

Lehner has absolutely been the reason the Sabres were close in many games this year. He's also let in early softies that let the game get out of control.

But because fans decided he's terrible, he never gets credit for the former, but will always be blamed for the latter.

It's infuriating to me

Since we've acquired Lehner, he has made at least 10 save of the year highlights. He's had some of the best highlights by a Sabres goalie not named Hasek in our entire team's history.

He also loves getting the Ryan Miller shutout and the aforementioned early softie.

Did it sell well in North Dakota the one year it was there? And were there any noteworthy prospects? Cause that might be the other issue here (not a knock on Dahlin just that a north american top prospect probably draws more attention)

North Dakota didn't have an NHL sized arena. Maybe they would fill it. The IIHF seems intent on getting to NHL sized markets.
