Yes. It really has been fun to watch. I haven't posted much lately but I have been watching and his progress, plus the resurgence of Giroux, have been really amazing - AllInForFlyers
I watched the game on the nbc sports app on the beach in fort Myers today. It was glorious. First “beach” day we had on the trip, though looking at the home temps I can’t complain |

Kind of incredible that they can have G, Coots & Jake on fire with Elliott playing well and still somehow not be in playoff position. Perfect example why you have to get everything you can out of every line. |

Then you have not played a lot of sports. I have played many sports most of my life and can assure you. When someone else sits over you and you watch that person a lot more close personally and see them struggle and no changes come. It makes you question absolutely. - Buzzo
Did you ever make it to the professional level? What I've done is irrelevant but I seem to know better. They aren't snowflakes that need to be coddled. For example when Konecny was sat out it just made him more determined. |

My God. They have got to figure out something on that unit. Manning and Lehtera out on a PP is something I never want to see again. I would try something like
Flip(maybe even Laughton) Patrick Konecny
Gudas AMac
Obviously not thrilled with that blue line. Would be nice to get Sanhiem up and into one of those spots. |

The 2nd unit right now needs a forward that can direct and QB the PP from the half wall along with Provorov at the point. The Flyers don't have that player available for the 2nd unit unless they break up the first unit. |

This is unfortunately true. I'm hoping that Patrick can develop into that player as he seems to be capable of making some very smart passes. The rest of his game just isn't there yet. |

Solid game all around, if not one of the best efforts of the year. Loved the start with
Goulbournes hit, only forward I thought struggled was Pactrick on the power play
He had a couple of blind pass turnovers. The D was solid and didn't give up a lot, thought Gudas and Manning back to looking like they did when they played so well against Ovechkin in Washington playoffs a couple of years ago. Gonna be hard to get Sanheim in when D has been solid. Hagg has had few rough shifts but overall still much better than Sanheim. Nothing to to with Vets Hak is playing best lineup he
Believes will give team best chance to win. Looking forward to hopefully, Neuvy getting in net tomorrow and playing well. |

I wouldn't mind getting Laughton out there on the 2nd PP with his shot, at the very least while Sanheim is out.
When Sanheim comes back, I would put Patrick down low, kinda like Simmonds, but allow him to head behind the net. He's made a few good plays from behind the net, already.

Based on what I saw as his junior tendencies, I think Patrick could actually be a good complement on the right side on the PP1. Patrick had a much higher tendency to use his very accurate shot anytime he was from the center-lane to the right wing. On the left side, he would tend to skate to center to shoot or down the left wing to pass across. He might be more successful personally, and provide a different angle of attack on our current PP1 with the better control/distribution/netfront players on PP1.
If I'm correct, he could provide an added shooting component from the right side that Voracek does not provide usually. At the same time, Voracek could provide his higher level of puck control and distribution to the PP2. Voracek might help make our PP2 more relevant working the same position he does currently on the first.
This is not necessarily the answer, but something I've felt for awhile based on what I remember watching of him in junior. |

Will never happen. Hextall went out of his way to bring Weise and Lehtera here. That much money in the owners suite makes Hextall look like Homer. And he and Hak too buddy buddy to let either one look bad.
As pointed out, this narrative makes no sense. BUT, there are two weaknesses in the way Hextall manages players:
1) He is risk averse when it comes to sending players through waivers. He has said many times that it is never a good thing to lose an "asset" to another team for nothing, and he sees players as assets, even when we don't.
2) He has a weak spot for Laughton, like many fans do, protecting him in the expansion draft, and plugging away with him no matter what.
I would like to see:
Giroux-Couturier-Konecny
Weal-Filppula-Voracek
Lindblom-Patrick-Simmonds
Raffl-Lehtera-Goulbourne
or Raffl-Vecchione-Lehtera
or at least Raffl-Laughton-Lehtera and Lehtera takes all of the faceoffs.

How can you possibly use a decision made with regards to one player and call it a weakness in how he handles playerS? Hextall was absolutely correct to protect Laughton in the expansion draft and he is a good player for the Flyers currently. This hard on you have for Laughton is baseless.
Give me one example of how he is risk averse with regards to waivers and how that has hurt the Flyers? |

I’m sure he hoped Lehtera would actually look like that....the only time Lehtera has been successful in this league he played with Taresenko....when they separated the two Lehtera went for a dump. I don’t remember Lehtera getting those type of high end talents to play with here for any extended time. He’s like a fish out water. He’s not good enough for a top 6 role here, and he sucks at a bottom 6 role.
You are right about one thing. Lehtera wasn't very effective once they moved him to wing. He actually struggled in international hockey at wing as well. Hmmm. |
