Seems he definitely saw his stock rise with his performance at the WJs. In combination with Svechnikov not really standing out and being injured earlier in the year, I think Zadina has overtaken him.

Looking at draft rankings I see... this thread never seems to change.

Likely so, and I doubt the Oil will suck enough to draft high enough to take him.

I'm actually somewhat torn. Part of me really wants the Oil to poop the bed, fire Chiarelli/McLellan into the sun, and draft Zadina. The other part is so (frank)ing done with losing.

I wonder if Tippett might be available to coach. His reputation as a "trap coach" or that he can't coach offense seems like it was only a product of working in Arizona with limited talent. He's at least an effective structure coach. If Sheldon Keefe isn't made available, then I think I'd be reasonably comfortable with Tippett.

Not planning on moaning about it too much, but scheduling for the Oilers has seemed really odd this season. So many Eastern opponents early in the year, more matinee and afternoon games.

Nah, what we need is to draft the right Dman regardless of where we slot in. Dobson is who I'm praying for. He'll likely fall in the 5-10 range where we'll be picking anyway. He's got a projectable frame with top notch skating and a crazy jump in offense this season; he's all the things I look for in drafting Dmen

Glad I usually miss the afternoon games due to sleeping after a night shift. They aren't something anyone needs to see. Looking at the box score it appears Talbot is done and Montoya is the teams new #1 tender now?

Do you seriously think that McDavid thought he would be contending for a cup in just his third season on any team? Or that he only signed long term because he thought he would be contending for the cup every year of his contract? Pretty sure the kid isn't as good as he is, because he lacks any ability to overcome adversity.
