The Redskins allowed 1.8 more points per game than the Bills and allowed 7.2 less yards per game. 2 less INT, same amount of fumbles recovered, and 15 more sacks than the Bills. They play in a weakass division same as the Bills and finished 7-9. Tell me how Kirk Cousins puts us over the top?

Spends what u mean by “over the top”

But Cousins can actually throw the ball & complete passes down the field

Do u really think that wouldn’t help...
A LOT?

He can actually drive a team down the field with some consistency
And having a RB like McCoy would help keep defenses honest, if not open up the passing game even more for him

Kirk Cousins isn't the answer. Certainly not with the salary he's going to command.

He plays in a similar division to the Bills and he went 7-9. Dogpoop, not even an NFL QB Tyrod Taylor managed to put up a very similar record the last 3 years to Godlike Kirk Cousins. Taylor 22-20, Cousins 24-23-1. Bortles threw for 4428 yards, 35 TDs and 18 INTs and he went 5-11. Numbers aren't the be-all and end-all. He put up those numbers because his team sucked. Cousins is the Garbage Man.

Cousins is going to want $25M a year at minimum. And you can add $8.6M to that since Tyrod is gone. $33.6M for a QB is Crazytown. That's $6.6M more than the current #1 QB in the league(Stafford).

As far as a football game is concerned, that poop was pathetic, from all 3 sides: The Bills, The Jags and the Refs. Couple of points on each:

First, the refs:

1.) I saw about 17 uncalled holding plays against us, no joke. Their O-line was absolutely mauling us and got away with pure murder.

2.) Tyrod got hit in the head multiple times, hit below the knee at least twice from what I saw and they threw 1 flag on a play that even Stevie Wonder would have thrown a flag on

Second, the Jags:

1.) Bortles is trash. Once they realized we weren't stacking the box and the refs weren't calling any holding, they just held us and let him run for 1st downs. It was ridiculous.

2.) One of their players taunted a Bills player on the first play of the game, slamming his facemask into our guy and yap-yapping for a good 10-seconds. There was a lot of shoving and the refs didn't set the tone early, against what is becoming the Seattle of the AFC in terms of dirty, dirty play.

Honorable Mention: Dareus's comments before the game on the Bills Front Office. If there was any doubt this guy is a jamoke, he ended it with those comments. Grow the fucc up man. You had multiple suspensions, a huge contract and a bad attitude. That's why you got traded, yeah, deal with it.

And finally, the Bills:

1.) Tyrod. Forget his receivers dropping passes. He had 37 pass attempts. Let that sink in. One of the 3 best rushing QB's in the league had 37 passing attempts. The problem here is that he had numerous opportunities to take off running into huge holes the Jaguars front 7 was leaving open for him and he flat our refused to because: He wants so badly to prove he's an effective pocket passer he essentially chose to lose the game throwing rather than win the game running. This guy has no killer instinct and he has no awareness whatsoever. I saw at least 5 plays where he had a wide open receiver and didn't even look at that side of the field.

2.) The coaching staff. You make the playoffs in dramatic fashion, hold the home team to 10 points and don't pull out all the stops? We scored a FIELD GOAL. On a trip to the redzone in which we had 6 consecutive plays where we refused to power the ball in with Tolbert. Every single play-call on offense that wasn't a pass was a bootleg, because San Fransisco did it and it worked. It was moronic. You think Jacksonville didn't realize this and adjust? They shut it down repeatedly. Yet we kept going back to it.

Honorable mention: 2nd and 10. HB Draw to Tolbert up the middle. WHAT ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH IS THIS???

Before anyone comes flying at me: Be happy the drought is over, blah, blah... No. I'd have rather them missed the playoffs than have to sit through that crap. It was disgusting. Instead of pulling out all the stops and letting it all loose, we played not to lose and lost because of it. This playoff birth just set us back another five years unless we land one of the Free Agents QB's this off-season, which is silly to bank on. We don't have anything to move up with in the draft at this point except picks, and even then, there's so many holes on this roster, we'd be idiotic to not use the picks on depth.

Bye, bye, Tyrod. Stop making excuses for this guy. He (frank)ing sucks and is an idiot.

Blah blah blah
Do we need a QB who can throw the ball or not?

Obviously we do
And Cousins can throw the ball
Over 13,000 yds & 81td the last 3yrs

U don’t need to complicate it so much

If Cousins was our QB,
We’d still be playing

Time to start processing some dead weight out of the Sabres locker room.

The Sabres got lucky that the Bills were better than expected, so people kind of forgot about them. Now that the Bills cover is gone, it's gonna get ugly at KBC

Taylor had like 4 chances in the 4th quarter to drive 60-80 yards each time and couldn't get more than 15 yards. I agree with your killer instinct point in that regard. He has not, and will not commit to throwing the ball to players who are covered.

That graphic in the 1st quarter says it all: he's the all-time NFL leader in fewest picks per 1000 attempts. It's who he is, and it's not gonna change. To me, that's why we lost.

I wouldn't say he sucks, but he's obviously not great. This league has a serious shortage of bona fide star QBs. If the Bills move on, there's no guarantee they can do better in the short term

This doesn't scare me in the slightest.

We made the playoffs with the worst passing offense in football. We will be fine wihtout Taylor

In my view, many of the "dropped" passes are passes that should have been caught, but also should have been better thrown. The balls are behind the receiver, or low, or high, or just suck. We lose so many yards after catch, and the offense could be far more dynamic, if Tyrod would throw the ball so that the receiver can catch in stride.

It's a pipe dream, but watch how Brees throws the ball. Last night, the announcers used a phrase "throwing the receiver open" The guy is totally covered but Brees throws the ball in a place that only the receiver can get to it. Tyrod never has and never can do that.

I'm not even going to do any back reading

I was at the game yesterday here are my observations:

1.a) Dennison needs to go
1.b) Tyrod as well
2.) O'Leary was AWFUL yesterday
3.) Costly penalties at the worst times
4.) The defense did everything they could yesterday minus letting Bortles get away with 4 key mistakes. Two balls that should have been picked off, he threw one backwards, and he fumbled a snap picked it up, dusted it off and ran 16 yards for a first down.
5.) The Jags have the worst chant in their stadium "DUUUUUUVAAAAAAALLLLL", that's it. It took me a little bit to figure it out it's the county they play in. Basically is would be like Bills fans chanting "EEEEEERRRRRRIIIIIIIEEEEEE"
6.) I want one more year for Kyle Williams
7.) The Bills have a lack of depth at key positions

At least the drought is over, use the picks on key positions. Either go after Cousins with big money, or get 1 of the Viking QB's or Alex Smith and draft a guy in the 2nd round. Do not trade up, these picks are very important (see #7).

That last part is interesting. I wonder if it's an anticipation problem where he can't visualize the way the coverage and receivers will be, or if he doesn't trust himself to deliver it, or if he doesn't trust his receivers.

Maybe he doesn't have the velocity on intermediate routes to really thread that needle hard enough.

Like you said, it's sort of moot anyway. He doesn't do it and he never will, so the reason why probably isn't terribly important
