Pronman did a review of the WJC, split into Standouts, Surprises and Disappointments. Canuck-related summary

Standouts:
Sweden's PP - "Pettersson was a nightmare to face for teams killing penalties due to his skill and vision but also the fact he could launch a high-end shot and score from a distance."

Olli Juolevi - said OJ turned it on in the end to a level he hadnt seen in a while. Still doesnt believe OJ to be an impact player but very valuable with his IQ and skating

Surprises:
Gadjovich - was a better skater than realized, generated offense through smart plays and attacking. Pronman wouldnt have taken him in the 2nd round but sees more of an NHL prospect from him that previous

Disappointments:
Sweden top line at 5 on 5 - werent consistent in being dangerous as their skill/talent would suggest

I am not sure why does Van fans comparing their players to leafs. They need time to develop and they are not close to Leafs. Van got a lot of experience and it is killing their future than helping.

Winnepeg did same last year but they had a lot of really good players. But Van got only two players Bo and Boser.

Comparing laine and matthews is a fair comparison being 1/2 same draft year. Comparing boeser and matthews is stupid but it's been a constant piece aired on sportsnet based on PPg through first 50 games (his numbers compare to matthews and mcdavid and such). Its not something vancouver fans have opened up, its something the media has glued to.

I like pastrnak Boeser comparison for this reason, it got shot down pretty quick but with a lot less NHL xp Boeser has a higher ppg. They were drafted what 1, 2 spots apart from eachother?

There is no comparison, just 2 things are needed on our end, a number 1 goaltender like miller and an injury free season. We have a solid vetern core led by the likes of Eriksson and Gagner up front and Edler on D. We have young high end talent like JV and Goldobin up front and stetcher on the back end. Once demko gets here we'll see the 4th round for the fourth time before the leafs see it for the first time.
