Except they weren't able to win with Bradford! How is that hard to understand?

8-8 under Bradford last year and 11-3 this year under Keenum.

- Wetbandit1

Better, but u we’re talking like Minny was
5-11 last year

Anyways...
u never answered my question

“What great QB is available?”

Who are we gonna get that “makes us a contender” and take the next step, as u said?

Cousins isn’t Drew Brees,
but neither is Keenum

And none of the QBs we will have a shot at drafting are a sure fire franchise guy
And would all need development

Bills were rumored to be in on the Brees deal with Miami too.

Luck is a generational talent. Not sure why the colts would trade him, if he was healthy.

They would have some serious picks this year

- Boss34

I would say he's Eli Manning good in my opinion

Of all the hype he received he never reached that plateau of the can't Miss Prospect

That would be the best if Kasdorf shut them out.

Eli good isn't really too good.

Luck was really hyped and brought them to the playoffs, look at them now

I'm saying he's going to have a career similar to Eli Manning but I don't think he'll get it Super Bowl
.
Luck was basically the next Peyton Manning everyone said he would be the best QB in 2 years he just didn't live up to his potential he still a good QB but not generational I don't think

Luck is more a Matt Ryan. Stats are very comparable. But more injury prone and more turnovers

On potential QBs available which have been debated earlier in posts...

- Safe choice = Alex Smith, consistent, not flashy, very reasonable cap hit currently
- Value choice = Keenum, peek production in 2017, 3rd of 3 in previous 4 seasons, very inexpensive...will change
- Make or Break choice = Cousins, has steadily improved over past 5 seasons, very costly

-Smart choice IMHO = Alex Smith for a couple years, Draft a QB in 1st round 2018, groom the pick to start midway in 2019 season.

BUT...
we’d have to trade for Alex Smith
So what are we giving up?
Are the Chiefs even ready to trade him?

And I believe he has 1 year left on his deal...
so I doubt he’s gonna extend so he can just be replaced the next season
He’s not gonna sign up for that again

its funny cause this was finally the year he had numbers other than corsi going for him (as in the high possession numbers actually translated into something) and he still got waived.
- Sabresfan-365

It is pretty funny. I didn't really read into it. Was it because guys were coming back from injury or something that they didn't have enough room for everyone?

My main hangup is the money, he's going to want a ton and for 2 years you add a lot on top of that in dead cap. But it's also because I don't think he's good enough to make them legit Super Bowl contenders. And you're basically throwing away 5 or 6 years if you sign him. The Redskins (frank)ed up and artificially inflated his salary by tagging him 47 years in a row. Kinda like how the Avs (frank)ed up and let ROR artificially inflate his salary by not negotiating with him.

I know, the numbers are sexy, especially after Tyrod. But all those yards and he's never thrown for 30 TDs. It's pretty much a pre-requisite to be a franchise QB you need at least 30 TDs. He's not a bad QB, at all, he's a good QB, but we need a great one in order to compete at the highest level. And he's not a great QB. The only way you get one is through the draft, or someone like Brees who underachieved for a long time so that the team drafts a new guy and he goes to FA which has happened once in the past forever.

Still waiting to hear who the “great” QB we can get is going to be?

8-8 to 13-3 is a huge difference.

I absolutely answered the question. You draft a kid and run with him. If he makes it he makes it, if not he doesn't. There is no such thing as a sure thing at QB, free agent or drafted. The Bills can not afford Cousins while also getting better everywhere else. They need half an OL, most of a DL, especially if Williams is done, a couple LBs, a #1 WR, a #3 WR, a #2 CB and like 4 others for depth, they only have White under contract and some other guy, Borders, I've never even heard of who makes $555K. You can't draft all those guys, you're going to need to spend some money in FA, then you'll have 2 first round picks to pay, or a top 10 pick to pay. None of that poop is cheap.

We could easily go to the top 5 if we wanted, what are you talking about?

Alex smith makes the most sense. Probably have to give up a pick? He has 1 year left I believe? Good working relationship between andy reid and mcdermott. Could be a draft day move.

I don’t think the Bills can...
or will...
move up into the top5

We can’t draft a franchise QB in the 20s unless we happen to get lucky

Cousins is a sure fire “good” nfl qb
That makes more sense than ONLY depending on a guy we draft

Doing both is a much safer bet
And it also means we can remain good,
and in the playoffs
Instead of starting a young QB too soon

And we use all those picks to fill our holes

Now if we can do it cheaper with Keenum...
then I’m in

IF NOT...
no one we pick at 21 should be starting for us next year

Who are u trading up for?
