makes sense...was just thinking that gustavsson might be one of their best prospects that they might be willing to move - Michael Pachla
Johansson & Luukkonen in our pipeline also
If we wanted to get a goalie,
my guess would be someone like Marazek or Grubauer
Not necessarily those guys,
but someone young with starting experience that Ullmark could pair with next season
I doubt they’d want Ullmark as the starter next season for us without an experienced guy with him
*this is all assuming we move on from Lehner
Obviously we could keep him & pair him with Ullmark next year |

Makes sense
He strikes me as just a decent defenseman who would just fall into the group of guys we already have
I wouldn’t see him as a significant improvement
Maybe we can get one of their better defensemen if we agree to take Hagelin off their hands for the next 1.5yrs
I’m guessing they’d like the Cap room - jdfitz77
why not just try and get a first round pick
Im not about this team collecting more bad value in terms of cap and talent.
Gorges, Kulikov, Scandella...every time people would say "hes definitely an upgrade over the last guy therefore we must be better" ignoring the subtle fact that none of thse guys could handle 25 mins a night or even play what would be considered average defence in their own end.
Let's draft someone with some real upside. |

if dennison and tyrod are gone, i'd like to see an alex smith/rob chudzinski qb/oc combo - Michael Pachla
I wouldn’t hate Alex Smith...
but I’d MUCH prefer Keenum or Cousins |

U think we are getting a 1st for Larsson or Girgensons though?
Not a chance imo
Only guy we might move for a 1st is Kane
Maybe Reinhart

yeah, I get that, but gustavsson looks like he's gonna be a real good one...
if they need a vet, they'll be able to grab a free agent as a back-up this off season |

Bogosian was always good, he just needed to be blessed by the hand of Phil Housley |

Well I wouldn’t be opposed to it
Especially if we’re getting Gustavsson for Girgs or Larsson
Even if they do like Ullmark,
it’s not like he’s a “sure thing” |

Cousins, no more of these flash in the pan QB's, that's Keenum. |

Ok, that makes more sense then
If we are trading Kane,
I agree that we need the best upside possible
Not just some “pieces” |

i'd like smith over those two and i'd even throw Bradford in there on a short-term deal...just want a vet qb to hold the fort for a year or two while they find and develop a young arm for the future...
imo, I think they'd have a better chance of winning with smith over those three

Could be very similar to the deal where we took Pommer to get a better price on Scandella
(which I also suggested)
Botts already showed he’s willing to make that type of deal
So I’d say it’s reasonable that he’d do so again

Sprong is their best prospect and would be an ideal fit here. But its becoming more doubtful that they will move him unless its a serious payment. |

hard to say that based on one tournament.
Denis Godla got the heroes treatment from the canadian crowd for his work with slovakia
benjamin conz was hasek 2.0 when he stood on his head for the swiss
Gudlevskis nearly died from dehydration taking all of the shots for latvia in the olympics
I wouldn't call him one of their best just yet |

Don’t see any reason they couldn’t sign Keenum or Cousins & also draft a QB to develop
Picking at 21/22,
We aren’t getting a “franchise” guy
At least not right away
Should definitely be a talented guy at that spot, but someone who’ll likely need some time to develop
I like Smith ok,
but Keenum & Cousins have more upside
Much more imo
Absolutely no to Bradford
Mediocrity & injuries have plagued him
Not a fan at all

Sprong, Gustavsson & a 1st sounds like a reasonable trade for Kane
Although there’s no defenseman in that deal for us |

cmon dude, we'd be lucky to get sprong on his own for kane.
If that offer was even remotely realistic Kane would be in a pens jersey |
