‘IF HE’S NOT FIRED’

Still to this point in time i’ve seen nothing even remotely close to understand why any talk of firing him. What i do see is the historic fanbase in the guise of new generations complaining to complain.

From ownership's eyes, NOT MINE, they may not like the fact he's finished in the bottom three two of his three years.

I've openly said I'm not a fan of his because I don't like the way he conducts himself, however, I've also openly said he probably deserves to get another contract to see this through as there is some nice pieces he's put in place.

Only 2 points to make...
If ownership is that stupid given the roster JB was given then they can buzz off & sell.
Idc what ownership sees other than revenue.
Second its hockey not toastmasters. Orating skills has nothing to do with the job at hand. Let TL flower it up for those who enjoy that stuff.

My summary is JB has not done us any disservice that equates into firing him. Now if anyone can name a sure fire replacement i am all ears. None are available IMO

To me he's been neither great or terrible, just ok, does he deserve more time, probably does. Personally I think he's improved as a GM but I'd like to see him improve in areas I perceive as a weakness because IMO you can't be a good prospect talent accessor and only ok at the other aspects of being a GM.

We'll see how it shakes out in the near future, if he's re-signed or not.

Still no GM suggested who can do better?

When the likes of PC Dorion MB Treliving Wilson to name only a few have jobs idk what JB has to do. All of them have achieved nothing or simply abject failures far worse than JB.

Why not? He was a 1OA pick and highly touted before McJesus-mania hit. Not to mention with Duchene gone Colorado's made him their focal point on offense.

US Today's mid season ranking for Canucks:

Vancouver Canucks — C+

Injuries undermined a good management decision to give younger players a larger role in turning around this team’s fortune.

You don't know if someone can definitively do a better job, that's impossible to tell. What you can do is say I "think" this person would perform better than Benning has. It's purely subjective.

Dean Lombardi has a better track record than Benning but he was fired because he signed some just God awful contracts that really hurt Los Angeles. At the end of the day he won two Cups as a GM there though.

I'm not personally suggesting Lombardi, I'm saying MAYBE ownership likes his body of work as he's an experienced GM and the architect of their two Cups. He was handed Kopitar and Quick though.

Im pretty sure JB wanted to stay competitive and went bonino instead of going for younger players for the future. Delaying the rebuild even further.
