Fear? Paranoia more like it lol
Proof is only in the head of those who worry over other teams losses.

It hasn't happened here, therefore it won't happen.

Is that the logic you're working with?

Can’t wait for him to admit how wrong he was about Benning in about a year or 2 from now

Missed reading this, but yes x10000. Dont need more former Canucks coming home for important jobs they are not qualified for, and that includes Burrows, Naslund, or the Sedins
- WhiteLie

Mid- lower management, a heap of scouts and a few player developers or whatevers is the Canucks Alumni. Well of course, the President, too.

2 seasons out of a 15 or 16 year career (17% of his games played), he barely counts

Why wont they hire Cliff Ronning?

Whose not calm? I agree it's unlikely, just pointing out that as one reason why letting him burn a year is incentive for him to sign.

Gaudette said at the end of training camp "One day I will wear a Canuck jersey , I am just not sure of what day it will be"

Yup, I went through the directory once and posted the list, lots of coaches on there too. It wouldve been shorter to list those who werent previously Canucks

we all speculate who should stay and who should go but we have no idea who made the brilliant decisions and who made the bad ones.

what we as fans can judge are the decisions and results. based on those, we can evaluate the job performance of the person we believe has the final say as to those decisions.

who has the final say here on the important decisions? obviously (imo) jb has final say at the draft but does he have final say on all important trades or the over all direction of the team? i'm not so sure. who does? i don't really know.

Your Fact: Canucks have not had a NCAA player not sign with them before. Thanks, I really didn't think of it that way, I totally get it now thanks for the clarification.

Yes. Being involved in politics is for people who have no life. That is by far the most brilliant of all your very insightful posts. Thanks for sharing your wisdom

I'm not a wordsmith nor academic. What does "Draftist" mean? I can't seem to find it in the dictionary??
- VanHockeyGuy

To really answer this question, we need to get into the science of genetics, politics and fantasy. It's complicated.

Yeah and we never had a 1st oa or a Stanley Cup so by that logic we never will.

The caveat I have for bringing guys into Canuck jobs is that they actually gain experience before they take the jobs.

If Salo coaches a few years in Finland, then comes on the bench in North America in a non-NHL capacity and works his way up - no problem. I dislike the Malholtra route where a guy retires, hangs around the team long enough to get a promotion

- WhiteLie

We'd need good assistant coaches if they ever make Salo the HC. He'd be injured all the time getting hit with pucks, tripping on rubber mats, doors with return springs etc...

They way you described the Malholtra signing was perfectly accurate.

CONSPIRACY! The league hires a thrid-party company to do the draft lottery to cover-up that the predetermine the order and keep us from winning the cup! It's all because aliens secretly own the teams that win.
