I'm expecting Joulevi & Gaudette to make the team to start the season, with Pettersson getting a showcase look early. EP is killing it in the SHL against men, so don't see why he wouldn't at least get a shot.
- SlightlyOffside

For me joulevi is closer than petterson and might make it but id almost start him in utica and make him earn his way up unless he blows you away at training camp.

With Petterson, its only his size. Absolutely nothing to do with skill. If he comes in at 180 he is probably good to go but if he is 165 leave him for another year as it wont hurt. Although probably bring him over to utica to get used to the smaller ice as it might be what held him back in buffalo.

That is where things are headed and why Sedins will be last minute signing post camp depending how many time with Comets to start the season.

Murph said at break likely see Gaudette before end of this season. So it seems to be on every one's mind, what we thought was going to happen, when he declared to return to NCAA.

I'm afraid the only thing that MIGHT stop the bleeding and apathy would be Rasmus Dahlin or some blockbuster trade. Both unlikely.

They have a tough road ahead on several levels.

Where is that photo of Jake last year...burger & fries diet!
At 165 maybe he should stay in the SHL!

He can play wing first before putting enough weight for center. If he can prove he can handle NHL play away from the puck then his skill is there for the rest of it.

How about 175, and then we can re-open the Mitch Marner comparables?

He won't be less than 170... I think he weighed in 170 for the WJC and was 167 earlier in the season. I bet he shows up in camp at 175. He can work with that. He's not exactly playing against kids in Sweden. Still, I project him on the team the season after... maybe he goes to Untica and works his way into the Canuck's line up next season. I wonder if he'd rather stay pro in Sweden instead of Utica though?

He hasn't signed yet and said will think about what his next move is at end of his SHL season. So that out clause like Dahlen got could very well be the caveat. Like EP will come to camp but if too far to make it or Canucks have plan for him to be an early call up then he probably would opt to go back to SHL.

It will happen eventually. This year (and likely next) are lottery picks for the Canucks. Odds go down the following year with Seattle's entry...they'll be guaranteed a top pick like Vegas (3rd, if I recall) as part of their entry.

He seems to be close to that range now so wing it is then.... but Marner couldn't hold EP's jock strap
