The Clarkson trade was actually Columbus’ idea, not Toronto’s.

Horton’s contract was uninsured, so they were doomed to pay his salary. Cap hit was zero, but the real dollars were bleeding the business.

Columbus figured a poop Clarkson was better than a crippled Horton.

This take makes no sense. People can make good moves and not win the cup. Vegas made a bunch of good moves, but they havent won, same with Benning, same with Yzerman, same with Poile; the list goes on and on

Not disagreeing or hyping them. Was commenting on the ability of the Laffs front office to sell the dream, including short term pain, with credibility. Hasn't hurt that they moved some unmovable contracts (including NTC's) to kick it off.

Would love to see TL and JB make that happen here.

We are on the same page just going about it in a different speak is all. In the end we have to be patient for 1-2yrs longer to see prospects integrate in & make us better.

Lacking depth at C hurts.
D not helping on offence.
Injuries still overwhelming.
In goal the pain is real lol


Still all about developing our prospects & keep drafting our way out of this mess.
Hopefully the TDL will bring us some more talent &/or picks. Look forward to late season auditions again eg Gaudette etc.
