Horvat was the back breaker, they held up just fine with the others out. They need another top 6 C to hold down the fort. EP and Gaudette are on the way. Maybe even Tavares.

I find the hyperbole amusing. I would suggest refraining from the Pom Pom glee to mock and denegrade Canuck fans though. |

1) 4 games above .500 with Horvat healthy
2) That was despite injuries to Edler/Tanev/Gudbranson/Sutter/Dorsett so it's not like the team was fully healthy and was benefiting from just being lucky.
3) Goaltending has let them down, but even mediocre NHL goalies should put up a .910sv% so things will get better
4) Yes, lack of depth is still an issue, but this will no longer be an issue next year with Juolevi, Gaudette, Pettersson, Dahlen and potentially our 2018 1st round pick all joining the NHL/AHL next season. Potentially Demko joins Marky in a 1A/1B type of role. - Nucker101
Goaltending should be the same tandem of backups next year, unless Demko just dominates the AHL in a way that can't be ignored and then comes into camp and outshines them. There are a lot of goalies that fall under or around .910. I'd be shocked if the season average of these two was above that. If we traded one our backups, I'd rather see Bachman come up and let Demko continue to take the reigns in Utica.
Depth will be an issue again next year. Out of all those players I really only expect juolevi and Gaudette to have a chance unless EP gains a bunch of weight over the summer. Utica will be much better, Canucks will be a bubble team. I'd hazard a guess this might be our last top5 pick for a while though, I expect at least one decent UFA signing up front to replace Vanek (Kane I think will get a genrous offer). Growth of guys like JV and Goldy. As many have pointed out, d chipping in on scoring is a big issue so who we can land to play defence is a big issue for us.

I'd like to see you or anyone else actually engage in a civil discussion. What about my statements in incorrect? Maybe just maybe, this franchise isn't as bad as some people think it is. |

1) That's the thing though. Both goalies are currently below the .910 sv% bar, and both have been better than that throughout their recent careers. They're better than what they've showed so far and will finish the season a bit better.
2) Adding OJ and Gaudette is great for depth, younger players are more NHL-ready nowadays, especially ones that have had a couple of years to develop after being drafted. They should be solid players. EP is already playing against grown men and dominating. If midgets like Gaudreau can play then so can he. Start him on the wing with Bo.
3) And as you said, with a nice chunk of money available this summer, the Canucks can sign an impact UFA as well |

It probably isn't. The empty seats and apathy aren't going away as quick as people may hope, despite the prospect pool. These are measurable results, money results, the ones the Aquilini's care about. |

It gets hard to tell the difference between sarcasm, sarcastic-sarcasm, and opinion in here.
Just reading through in the background, it feels like this whole place has been gaslighted in some sarcastic Inception style world. |

No one wants Marner. I'd rather just take a shot at one of your prospects or get another pick |

Marner is really talented, but the guy can't score unless he's playing with Matthews. Wingers who struggle to score and are small will always have limited value in this league. He's more of a luxury piece than a core guy. |

Technically speaking you should include Stan Bowman here, so 31 GMs don't want Franson. |

Exactly. We can't afford to trade our top young D man, Gudbranson, for him. |

Gudbranson isn't a top pairing guy, but a solid shutdown 2nd pairing guy like Hamonic/Larsson has solid value. But him being a pending UFA does hurt his value. I'd just rather have picks/prospects than try and trade him for Marner, who looks like a sexy name right now, but may not be as great as people think he is. |

Eastern conference is weaker. He has top pair potential there. |
