Eastern conference is weaker. He has top pair potential there.

He did do it in Florida so it's not out of the question.

Marner is really talented, but the guy can't score unless he's playing with Matthews. Wingers who struggle to score and are small will always have limited value in this league. He's more of a luxury piece than a core guy.
- Nucker101

He scored 19 goals last year in his rookie year.

That would have been second on the Canucks last year - only one behind Bo Horvat.

Please tell me again how he struggles to score.

Or perhaps it's just your opinions that will always have limited value.

P.S. He doesn't usually play with Matthews.

I don't think TL's in any rush to move Gudbranson.

Gudbranson isn't a top pairing guy, but a solid shutdown 2nd pairing guy like Hamonic/Larsson has solid value. But him being a pending UFA does hurt his value. I'd just rather have picks/prospects than try and trade him for Marner, who looks like a sexy name right now, but may not be as great as people think he is.
- Nucker101

I thought we'd moved on to Brown + for Gudbrason.

5 goals in 44 games playing 16 mins per night.

24 goals and a -4 in 124 career games.

Again, he's a decent player and a nice playmaker, but the guy isn't much of a scorer especially as a winger. I'm just not interested at his price tag.

Meh, I guess. Another guy who I see as more of a great 3rd liner instead of a core piece. I'd rather let Benning work his magic with draft picks. I'd rather see him draft more high upside prospects like Boeser/Lind/Demko/Gaudette for example. You can add guys like Brown as UFA's when the team is ready to contend.

He plays with an offensive black hole in Tyler Bozak

Marner is worth way more than Gudbranson.

There's other teams also interested, highest bidder.

I'll take their 1st instead anyway or 2nd + prospect that JB likes from them

I just like Brown over Marner myself.
Neither are 'core' pieces, but i don't expect to get that for Gudbranson, who is also not a 'core' piece, but a decent 2nd/3rd pairing, shutdown big body Dman.

I see his value as equivalent to a Brown.

Fair enough. But people always seem to get surprised by how much a dman is traded for.

Any chance your expectations on ROI have been set too high, considering Gudbranson is a guy who your organization doesn't even want to re-sign?

How do you know they don't want to re-sign him? Maybe they like him a lot, but prefer to give the other guys in the organization a spot?

Brent Seabrook will be a healthy scratch Tuesday night versus Ottawa.

Yeah.
1967 and counting.
Why make a push when Mathews is still on an ELC and affordable.
solid point.

He'd be second on your team in scoring right now, and he's still on his ELC.

Yes, his goals are down this year, but like I said, only Horvat on the Canucks had more goals than him last year.

I sincerely hope you are just trolling me here, because otherwise, I'm going to need to ask you to surrender your car keys.

Gaudettes Coach....

Madigan on will Gaudette sign with the #Canucks : "That decision hasn't been made yet but it's a business, the Canucks need to sign him this year so he doesn't get to free agency situation status, I get that but 4 years get you a degree."

If they liked him, they'd have resigned him.
Same with JB
Same with the Sedins.

everyone with an expiring contract is disliked.

I'm sorry, I'm confused:

What does Eric Gudbranson have to do with an attempt to win the Stanley Cup?
