That’s when he gooses it beyond the thread of reason to turn into his mockery. But there are zigs and zags to bait both sides. |

Bozak is fine. He is a 3rd line center. Nothing wrong with that. - mauryballstein
Bozak's problem is he doesn't really fit anywhere.
He's not a good enough scorer to be top 6 (although I'll give the guy credit - he's franking deadly at the shootout).
And he's not nearly good enough to be a checking centre on the 3rd line.
It's funny: I absolutely hated him when he was our #1. Now I'm just indifferent to him.
But anyhoo, my point was Marner gets a regular shift with Bozak - so I'm going to politely reject the notion that Marner's point totals would be significantly lower if he had played on the Canucks the last two years. |

Same as last year, hence the same result. - VanHockeyGuy
It is hard to build solid depth without prospects on the cusp of being ready that have no waivers to pass through. Getting too much waiver depth is a bad thing due to AHL rules with Vets playing. Blame Gillis for lack of depth in that regard more than Benning. Sure Benning could have sent more picks for young prospects that may never make the nhl, but he didn't. |

Edit: he's actually not that good.
Deadly the last couple of games, but he's been piss-poor the last few years.

I haven't given the JT idea consideration. It seems so unlikely. I have a gut feeling we sign Kane though. Love him or hate him... it will make a impact on the ice. Size shift as well. BO, JV, Gado, Possibly Kane... that puts some power in the forward core. EP, Lind, Boeser Gaudette mixed in with that. Looking like something to work with post Sedins and fingers crossed for another good draft...

Daniel Sedin over exact same time span:
24 goals and a -27 in 124 games. - Atomic Wedgie
So your comparing a young talented kid to aging HHOF player who is long in the tooth?
Lets compare Boeser to Marner. I'd say Boeser is better and he was 23 OA instead of 4 OA. |

You're going off on an extremely weird tangent here.
I don't have a single bad thing to say about Boeser - he does look like an absolute franking steal at 23, but I'd add that I doubt even the Canucks thought he would be as good as he is now. A happy turn of events for Canucks fans.
This whole conversation started with the idea that Marner for Gudbranson would be fair value. Since your boy Nucker was saying Marner was crap, I was merely putting his "lack of scoring" into perspective.
But since you were the one who compared Boeser to Marner, would you trade Boeser for Gudbranson? |

you don't think the Sedin's will make it to the HHOF?
Art Ross, Hart trophy, 1000 career pts, SCF's, Gold with team Sweden.
plus the whole twin factor, playing together their entire careers?
I'd say they are a shoe in. |

Sure absolutely. Just to add to it.
JT knows he can get whatever contract he wants. So it’s all about winning now in his prime years. That’s the hockey side. Personal side he’s an East Coast center of the universe type.
The above rules out Canucks on all levels.
As for Kane he’ll be highly sought after hockey wise too. He’s a bit younger and more athletic then JT to believe he’s got more prime years left. If he chooses Canucks it’s because they will pay him, he wants to live here, their long term need for him; and that, he can wait for the turnaround of young core to take hold. |

Boeser for Gudbranson? No, but Marner isn't close to being as good as Boeser is, so there you go. Truthfully, Marner straight up for Guddy is close to fair value as both had one good season and now are afterthoughts on their respective rosters but still with a lot of upside. That's why they call them hockey trades, both think they gave up too much. |

Both probably first ballot and many would put money on it. NHL likes uniqueness and they have it. Dominated in prime with no support. |

I'm a little puzzled how Marner - currently 3rd on the Leafs in scoring, 3 points behind the leader (not to mention he'd be second on the Canucks in scoring) has now been relegated to an afterthought. |

Can someone please direct me to Gudbransons "one good season"? I started walking through his first 6 seasons and feel hopelessly lost looking for it. |
