I have to agree with you - I'd do Guddy for Marner in a heartbeat - NO WAY TO does that deal, just no way.

Yeah.
1967 and counting.

Boeser for Gudbranson? No, but Marner isn't close to being as good as Boeser is, so there you go. Truthfully, Marner straight up for Guddy is close to fair value as both had one good season and now are afterthoughts on their respective rosters but still with a lot of upside. That's why they call them hockey trades, both think they gave up too much.

Although it is likely Marner has more value than Guddy. It isimpossible to say 100% how teams view players. GM's look at players differently than fans.

What we do know is that a lot of teams have been calling about Gudbranson and he seems to have value around the league. I am guessing around a 1st and possibly more is what we will get. As far as Marner is concerned, he is a good young player but is likely not worth the draft position anymore.

Marner drops out of the top 10 if that draft is done again.

Oilers fans were laughing at teams offering #3 dmen for Taylor Hall.

They ended up doing it.

I would love to hear who you have filling up the top 10 if the draft was done today.

Hint: Strome is the first guy dropped.

Other than Boeser, who else are you putting into the top 10?

Strome is better than Marner. Put him on the leafs and he lights up. Marner would be nothing on the coyotes.

strome, eichel, boeser, mcdavid, hanifin, provorov, werenski, barzal, rantanen, chabot, larsson, white, erikkson ek, connor, rosovlic.

So whats that about 15 players that would go before him?

Not to mention others that will turn it up and show more potential in the next year or 2.

Gudbranson for Brown and San Jose's 2nd or 3rd is fair in my opinion.

Strome is better than Marner.

Strome is better than Marner.

Strome...the guy who can't get into the lineup of the team currently on pace for 50 points...is better than Marner.

Strome...the guy with 18 NHL games, 1 goal, 1 assist, and a PPG average of .11, is better than Marner.

Strome...the guy who is 32 in PPG for his draft class, and 30th in points...is better than Marner.

Are you just trolling me here, Maursie?

Because if you aren't, you are well on your way to becoming a legend here at Hockeybuzz.

I cordially invite you to visit the Leafs thread to drop some truth bombs on Leafs Nation.
