I forgot to include Gaudette to my analysis of players better than Marner

- mauryballstein

Did you forget or is it that Marner is quite a bit better than Gaudette?

Different, this one will have ham, artichoke, red onion, pine nuts and roasted garlic.

So I should probably bring a Pinot Noir?

BB keeps impressing more with his play away from the puck. He is really getting involved and the increased time well earned.

Goldy also with an impressive shift with the Sedins. Looking for JV to get something going or make a big hit. With Gaunce out would like to have seen him on PK.

The JB silence is interesting, TL's presser was 6 days ago and he was off the grid well before that.

Net falls on goalie...no problem....seems they test market how many controversial ways NHL can get away with first on Canucks before deciding what to use on teams that count

1) That's kind of misleading to what the reality is. Both goalies have played above .910% for one season as backups but have averaged less than .910% over their careers. Now that they are starting more, their % is going down. Seems like what would happen when you play backups too much. Which is why I predicted before the season we would have the worst goaltending in the NHL.

2) I agree Guadette will likely be pro ready, disagree on Pettersson and Juolevi. I'm fine with being proven wrong, but I don't think either will be ready for the 82 game grind or the physicality of the NHL. Johnny was 21 when he entered the league, more physically mature despite his size.

3) I do think whoever is GM will back the truck up for Kane, he brings everything this team doesn't have as well as hometown love. I like the idea, but I also just think it's one of the few UFA's of any quality that will want to play here. Vegas and not having to pay taxes might be too tempting for him, but there aren't many young UFA's out there. I would love to target John Carlson and offer him whatever he wants, but again I just don't think he's going to want to work here and get paid way less after taxes and Canadian dollar are converted. Vegas you literally get paid 1/2 again what you would make in Vancouver because of the state taxes, put that together with an over-achieving team and UFA's are going to flock there IMO.

We will find out next season. I think Gaudette will be an impact player for the Canucks next season. Not on the level Boeser, but I have zero issue adding 2 way centers who can score. But yes he will have a better season next year than Marner.

I'm expecting Joulevi & Gaudette to make the team to start the season, with Pettersson getting a showcase look early. EP is killing it in the SHL against men, so don't see why he wouldn't at least get a shot.
