No he was terrible captain. But Gionta is sort of revered as a Sabre for some reason despite being incredibly mediocre.

Which is to say, he may be an overrated captain, but he would still be an improvement over several players on this squad.

In the grand scheme of the team I doubt it matters.

The real trade off was Pommer and scandella instead of gio. Scandella helps us more long term than gio

Just joined the Broncos, so he'll likely be getting a shot at the Memorial Cup this year.

They've loaded right up. He sounds a lot like the other guy they got earlier this season, Matteo Gennaro, another unsigned draft pick that's put up real nice numbers in Junior.

If he shot from in front of the goal line as much as he did from behind it IMO he'd be HOF.

As much as clay is overpaid, they could work well together.

Clay is only overpaid because the Bills never throw the ball. He was 2nd in targets this year, 1st last year and 3rd the year before. Can't really ask much more from a TE. It's not his fault they never throw.
