Did some back reading last night from discussions earlier in the day.
I thought a great question was raised by someone about the role a Hockey Czar.
I didn’t see an answer, if it was provided then I obviously missed it.
I think the following would be a decent start:
- bring people and various departments together and effect change
- build and provide high level direction on how to run a The hockey operations department –
-Define the hockey department’s
- Vision
- Plan
-Organizational Design
-Draft Strategy
-Player (UFA) Acquisition
-Financial/Cap Distribution
-Player Development
-Management Succession
- various Management and Operational Systems
- Scouting System
- Player Evaluation System
I am sure others can fill in additional aspects, but that would be my thought process.

Crackosian - SABRES 89
Beautiful thing is, IF reports of 4 - 6 weeks is accurate, he just blew the opportunity (albeit minuscule) for the Sabres to somehow unload him...with reduced salary and a cheep throw-in as necessary.
Looks like he now becomes a buyout candidate instead of a trade candidate
Edit: this should spur JBotts into action one would think.

Tkachuk is going to be a good player. I just don’t see him as that elite top line skill set player. And I’m not basing that off his college stats. - MCGUIZZY
Oh I don’t think he’s going to be elite I see your point
I see him as the David Backes type of Level not at a Corey Perry Or stamkos type goal score I do see Z as that
