So.... we should see him at the Olympics then, that's awesome I've been wanting to watch him play.

You're the one that pulled out the draft day stat suddenly/recently - I wasnt trying to stand on those legs in the first place!!

I agree development happens at all different levels, I didnt dismiss anything, the basis of the argument when we started talking about it, was Demko's time in the AHL. If we follow your "draft day" metric, compared it with the top goalies currently in the league that you mentioned - they still average about 2-2.5 years in the AHL before successfully making the jump to the NHL in a backup role - so Demko's development is right on par with your argument and mine.
LET THE KID PLAY!!

- Brooks_Light

Sounds nice in theory....but he won't play....he will sit and watch markstrom. If your back up goalie isn't going to play....then I want my top goalie prospect playing everyday in the AHL

My thoughts on our D.
I thought Tanev should have stayed but with his history of injuries I think you should now trade him for a first and a prospect.

Gudbrandson seems to be a foregone conclusion that he will be traded for a second. That is fine.

Hutton has had three fights for the Canucks and has done very well in all three scraps. That was a nice hit from Hutton also. Need to see more of that and less of the goofball . Maybe that was a wake up call.

Stecher gives you a good effort and is learning. Sorry Makita

Biega . I like him I hope they bring him back.

OJ. I think he will be a Canuck next year for many reasons. (Sergachev)

Edler: Most nights I want to strangle him but I realize his value and look forward to seeing him gone in two years.

Pouliot average .

Holm looking forward to seeing him try again soon.

- VANTEL

I actually feel the same way (today).
I'd like Tanev moved, but don't think he will.
Guds is as good as gone.
I like Pouliot's game. Has regressed of late, but will bounce back.

According to Ek, Nsh is looking for scoring and back up goalie.

Vanek and Nillson for a 2nd and 4th ?

No NCAA players on team Canada.

I don't agree that NCAA = a 'pro' league, but we could just be arguing semantics here (again).

Unless there was a 'generational talent' playing in the NCAA, it would be pretty unlikely to be picked for the Olympics.

Experience is a necessity.

I will start off by saying this is not aimed at any one in particular just a few thoughts.

The term sh1t show has been used a few times in the last little while when talking about bringing prospects in . Most commonly referred to Demko and Gaudette.

If you keep bringing back the same players year after year you will still have the same sh1t show.

Players like Boeser Vessey Boucher Kerrfoot all seem to be doing good. Players should not be held off the team because Canucks have a lousy team , the lousy team should be changed. Both Gaudette and Demko have had 3 years pro.

- VANTEL

Integrating a rookie forward is very simple...minutes can be managed as we have all seen . A goalie is another matter altogether. Ryan Miller couldn't stop us from the bottom...Martin Brodeur in his prime couldn't save this team from the bottom. There is absolutely no good reason to bring Demko into this hot mess to sit on the bench. If they want to dump marky and neilsen and let Demko run with it next year....thats a little different story. Still don't think it's the right move for Demko...but atleast he would be playing and working on his craft.

It's a development league better than jr.

Benning said when talking about Bo in their rookie year. We look for two things

1 we want to make sure they are in a mans body so they don't get destroyed

2 What they do when they don't have the puck

NCAA technically is not pro no salary but it is a developmental league.

Gaudette is an American

So you are right

If you wait until this team is not a mess Demko may never see a NHL game. I am serious . We could be a bad team for the next 10 years

But i heard ncaa hockey was just below the AHL and above the European leagues.
Guadette is tied for 1st in scoring in a league above the European leagues.
Why would that be?
Unless.... no.... couldn't be.... but it makes.... no, don't say it..... but.... shut your mouth...... NCAA isn't as good as any of the top tier men's leagues.
Say it ain't so.... Vantel, help?

I'm being a devils advocate here.
I do agree with Vantel for the most part.

You have Stecher Pouliot Biega Tryamkin and there is a pretty good chance we will be drafting a RHD.

I never said it was pretty.
