I would be all in to bring the twins back on a one year 3 mil contract if they agreed that if at TDL if we were out of the playoffs they could be traded and to different teams if need be.

They would fetch a decent return . If no then move on to others you can move at TDL

Yes if they gave him 35 starts that would be a great step into this league. But Vancouver won't do that . Our current starter has been the backup here for two years now and is currently our starter. He's never started 35 games yet in his entire career ! That being said, alot could change at the top of the organization this off season and a new voice and vision could see things very differently. If we get more of TL and JB I'd bet we will be in for more of the same.

I still think Start Demko in the AHl next year(unless he makes it impossible to send him down, then just get rid of Nilsson) and dump Nilsson to a team looking for backup help around TDL for a 4th or 5th and Have Demko play 10-15 of the remaining games in the season.

Young backup NHL goaltenders tend to spend a lot of time in practice with the goalie coach working on technique. They don't get as much of that development time once they're starters playing almost every game.

Practices also provide an opportunity to face NHL shooters regularly which helps with their timing during the transition.

They don't just rot on the bench.

You bring Demko up once he's shown he has nothing more to learn at the AHL level. The other goalies' contracts, how the team's playing, who's injured on defense, etc. will be very minor considerations.

Coming up on a temporary basis as an injury replacement is a whole other story.

In reality the price should be higher for the longer you have the player. I also don't want to see the price go down because other teams used prospects or picks to get other players. Similar to what happened to Hammer. Waiting too long can also have its cons.

Van clearly doesn't have the best out there for rentals or players other teams want. I'd rather JB take the best/fair deal when it comes along.

It doesn't matter what Benning Does, he will have done the wrong thing. He will either get blasted for waiting too long or not long enough.
