It doesn't matter what Benning Does, he will have done the wrong thing. He will either get blasted for waiting too long or not long enough.
I stated at start of season that I would be pretty happy if he got an asset or 2 by trade deadline, many agreed back then. - Reubenkincade
I like what he did last deadline. |

Tanev's health is slaughtering his price. A team may pay for a guy who doesn't play. I wouldn't doubt if a team pays up with a conditional pick in there. |

Injuries are always fluke ones though, it's not like they are reoccurring, nor does he have any known health issues that would be a concern. He would also be targeted less on a team like TBL as Hedman would be the main target, and eventually Sergachev. He would likely stay healthier in TB. He has also been known to play through injury when his team is in playoff hunt or in playoffs, |

I literally just saw the Hedman injury. Not very good. They will pay to replace him for sure. |

Nothing bad at all. He turned that 4th into Gunnarson and Palmu as well. Gunnarson could be the Tanev replacement down the road. Hoping too see him in Utica next season as well.
Palmy may be a bit more of a project, but has some nice potential. |

Do we know what Tanev's list of 8 teams he will not go to are? |

Young backup NHL goaltenders tend to spend a lot of time in practice with the goalie coach working on technique. They don't get as much of that development time once they're starters playing almost every game.
Practices also provide an opportunity to face NHL shooters regularly which helps with their timing during the transition.
They don't just rot on the bench.
You bring Demko up once he's shown he has nothing more to learn at the AHL level. The other goalies' contracts, how the team's playing, who's injured on defense, etc. will be very minor considerations.
Coming up on a temporary basis as an injury replacement is a whole other story. - YeOldTimer
It’s been a while Old Timer, good explanation on processes.

He has 0 points in 38 games. Hit's like a truck but past that IDK. Still young. |

Nope, but i would bet that TB is not one of them. Who wouldn't want to be paid more on a team that will contend for years to come. |

I dont think he will ever produce, but could eventually be a decent #7/8 or even a #6 shut down pk guy at the best. |

I’ve watched the rockets for years. I’m
Very high on Foote. Way way better than Myers. Close to Weber IMO. |

A little while back I read something about him being the stabilizing influence as Dahlin's defense partner in Frolunda. I don't get mesmerized by points from defensemen, although you need some production from the backend for sure.

I’d say having 2 very good point producers would suffice. The other 4 play roles. |

From the "lineups" it usually looks as if Dahlin is 1st pair and Gunnarsson is 3rd pairing. |

That works for me. I think canucksfan1944 is saying we should be going after Foote from Tampa. That would be sweet. |

Ya, that could be the case. It was awhile back when I read this, so I assume Dahlin was on 3rd pairing back then. |

I wasn't really happy with that pick. Same with a lot of the D, JB picks.
Mackenzie Stewart
Tate Olson
Carl Neill
Cole Candella
Matt Brassard (looks like the next Carl Neill)
Kristoffer Gunnarsson (pointless in 38 games)
Brisebois, Tryamkin, Maybe Rathbone. |

I didn't mind the pick, but I enjoy having a good defensive defenseman or 2 in the lineup. I would prefer having a couple really nice defenseman like Hedman Jones Pietrangelo Doughty etc but sometimes you need to go defensive guys and some offensive guys as these top-notch 2 way defenders are extremely hard to come by. |

It was more just a general disappointment with the Canucks picking of D. Understandably harder to draft then forwards. |

I'd be down with this... even without the trade bait - Pres.cup
Trade bait would have to be part of my agreement. This is a rebuild team . Honor this contract but if a new one is signed no NTC |

I don't think Demko has anything more to learn at the AHL. I am not suggesting he will play here and be a Vezina candidate . He will be at the level Schneider was at when he came here. There will be growing pains and blown games |
