I wouldn’t mind a few jackasses on a team full of choir boys.

Some here like choir boys but want toughness at the same time. Contradictory to say the least. Guess they want gentleman who kick ass nicely. Agitators bother some ppl here.

Anyone fit that description? Agitator that is.

Some toughness is needed yes...but not in the form of another Burrows/Kesler tandem. Don't need to bring that crap back to the room IMO.

Toughness in todays game is difficult to determine the meaning. Depends on the poster. Taking hits & playing thru it toughness? If someone nails someone on a clean hit they gotta fight. Is that toughness if he doesn’t fight. Does a player have to be 6’5” to not be asked to fight the ops? For once i wanna hear what toughness actually is by definition.

Cite players to support the argument.
I’ll start with Edler. His hits are bruisers.

IMO toughness is more about taking hits to make a play. Hitting ops while not taking yourself out of the play is an art. Game is speed & skill so picking spots is more important. Where we do lack toughness is standing up for our goalies when they get run. Its also unwise to react & give up a PP so its not always easy to discern what we need. In the end its about not being run out of the game & making ops pay for their mistakes. Need a PP they fear as a detterent.

I appreciate Burrows for what he did here for sure but that stigma surrounding him and Kesler were not good for the club IMO. It's taken a long time to shed a lot of that and the last thing this team needs is another douche Kesler type. There are many ways to get players as good as Kesler/Burrows without the baggage they brought.
