What I wanted Canucks to do for Subban last season before his trade value dwindled down to Dowd.

I qualified that said center be at least better then Dowd and Chaput if two way. But hoping for puck distributer to help develop all the prospect wingers that will be flooding Comets next season.

He's the only center that can play defense until Sutter and Bo come back. Canucks are over matched by other teams centers so he gets deployed often now to tread some water. He might easily find himself in the press box when both are back.

Too risky signing a player over 35 to a multi year deal. If that player retires before the contract is up the team is still on the hook, cap wise, until the contract expires.

Max 1 yr at 3 mil a yr. they have value but not that much. Van holds the cards, if they don’t like the deal, they are free to resign with anyone they want.
