I think the canucks winning 10 more games this season is an easier task than beating out arizona and buffalo for last place
- Codes1087

No way they finish lower than those two disasters. Doesn't really change the odds for 10A, but I think that means the worst first round draft slot would be 6th.

JB talked about EP playing here next yr on the wing. I can see the Sedins signing for 1 yr and play with him.
- Kaynine

That's possible. That signing and who plays will probably be decided during or after camp. More so because there is no pressure to do something before hand.

Canucks may limit themselves to signing one UFA from another team in off season. Keep it a prospect driven completion with returning young players.

Usually Canucks bring in a couple PTO's next camp they keep in the family with special arrangement with their Swede HHOFers. So they can figure out where the highly touted prospects are at first.

I’d gauge interest in Svechnikov.
Trade down depending on how far.
I go as low as 8oa + a 2nd or top prospect.
10oa if a stellar offer.

BPA a rebuilding team doesn't trade from 2oa, makes no sense.

Elaborate. Too vanilla of an answer.
Rebuilding teams want as much top talent as possible. BPA says nothing at all.

I guess maybe Boquist if he plays his way into that spot, at this point I'd say it's between those three and whoever plays best.

If we are picking 2ov..... we bend over, spread our legs wide and ask whoever is picking 1ov what they want for the first and pick Dahlen.

Exactly. They’re probably (frank)ed for the next 5-6 years at the very least
- Nucker101

They can spend then next 5 or 6 years polishing their three Stanely Cups while they rebuild

I read a article today saying that brady is being held back by comparisons to matthew. Brady is actually quite a bit more talented but people compare totally because of last name. I am also nervous of drafting russians.

Nice decision to have to win that lotto slot. There is a tight tier of Svetchnikov, Zadina and Boqvist vying for that 2OA at the moment. Not sold on Boqvist yet, though he would fit Canucks number one ask of PPQB RSD.

The other high talent, speedy and good size scoring wingers are nice to add to existing Canuck pool. Tkachuck see as gritty guy just below top 3 but within top 6 and he's really a winger too. Funny if Oilers draft him.

Trading down a few spots to grab what an extra 2nd?.... not fond of at lotto slot. Though would hope they turn an asset into a 1st that gives a good chance of picking one of the many D available from Dobson, Bouchard, Wilde etc...

Thinking its the Yotes or the Sabres & they both need D that’ll be an interesting one to pull off lol

Hardly....the Leafs won a Cup 51 years ago, the Hawks won three Cups in the past seven years.

Makes me a bit nervous too, but we've had good luck in the past and some of the best forwards in the league are russian, no getting around it. Tarasenko, Kuznetsov, Kucherov svechvikov. I'm in!

After Dahlin i think its the next tier of 4-5 players. Not confident in the Russian. Add Boqvist, Tkachuk Zadina to the mix. By seasons end i expect another 1-2 players to step up into the picture. Lots of nice D this draft.

Oj and 2ov and a third for 1ov and reinhart from buffalo

Or with a 2nd instead of the third for 1ov and strome from Arizona.

Odds say they will be picking 4OA and 5OA. But watch Isles win 1OA with Flames pick. They need D too. Who doesn't lol

Please trade Virtanen to Boston so he can be the next Cam Neely, lol The fourth line is not where this guy belongs and with the playoffs pretty much out of the question I would play him in the top six and see how he does.
