We're still easily bottom three team in this league... wether Bo is back or not. Games get tougher...points more valuable, to playoff teams anyway. Everybody was so quick to judge this team as a bubble team after the quick start , just smoke and mirrors. When the dust settles they will be somewhere in the bottom three again. - Bullfrog77
You are basing this on what? How we played with Bo, Tanev, Bart, Sutter, Dorsette out of the line up? |

Not to mention crappy goaltending and adapting to a new coach/system. |

Also the Subban trade rocked the foundation of this organization. Hard to handle such a great adversity mid season |

After watching this team for the last few years I would like to see some deep changes this year in the summer to get a new look.
Some UFA top line picks JVR Hornqvist or Stone take one and say bye to Danny and Hank.
Second line guys Perron would be decent.
Third and fourth line guys like Sceviour Hendricks or Nolan all short term cheap .
I would like to see Gryba as a cheap pick up or bring back Biega. |

McGinn was traded for a 2nd in a season he ended up with 22 goals 40 points.
McGinn was traded for a Demers in a season he ended up with 9 goals and 17 points.
That said, I would be really happy if Guddy brings in a 2nd.
My guess is a stalled prospect. - belcherbd
Perhaps a player like Brock Nelson or Josh Ho-Sang, but I doubt we wanna bring an attitude like Ho-Sang into the room. Always, those two have fallen out of favour in NY.
JB exceeded expectations last TDL, turning Burr from a 3rd or 4th into a nice prospect like Dahlen. So who knows. All it takes is 2 teams and a deadline. |

He'll be fine. Just needs more time to learn the details away from the puck. |

As long as they don’t throw term at any ufas it will be a win. Over pay JVR on a one year, who cares, just don’t “bring in” a new “core” |

I'm basing it on the yearly trend that has been happening since torts was here. Hot starts and epic collapses ! Same players for the most part...same results. If I'm wrong so be it...but I'm confident history will back me up at the end of the season . |

unfortunately, I believe you. haha
4th line shutdown guys arnt hard to come by so with that said...I don't think we could find ONE example of a 4th line guy that goes 95 games (to start his career) without scoring and continues to stay in the lineup.
Realistically, most guys play 30-50 games and if they don't produce they get sent down and before you know it, they're in fawking Denmark but not ol Gauncy, rocking that grade 7 stash - the kid is resilient!! - Brooks_Light
Just for random fact checking. Of Left wingers who played 60 plus games last season in the NHL. 86 LW's played more then 60 games. Only 14 of them scored less then Gaunce's (comical) projected prime of 6-12-18 points.
If you go 50 games 102 LW's and 26 players scored less then 18 points in 50 games.
He will probably get this season to start to produce more otherwise his chance at being a regular next season will be much smaller. |

We are behind last year's pace for points ....this time of the season - Bullfrog77
What sounds more reasonable?
We were going to finish this low because of our other teams in previous seasons sucking. History dictates.
or
Injuries to Bo, Sutter, Tanev, Baertchi, Dorsette, etc... really broke the Canucks backs the last few weeks when they were playing the most structured hockey we have seen in recent years up to that point.

just highlights the teams lack of depth more than anything. Some teams can deal with injuries because they are much deeper.
Should this trend continue 2-3 years from now then yes, their would be reason for concern. But as it is, this is a young, injury riddled team that simply doesnt have enough horses to compete.
I'll hit the panic button when this team is deep and still playing like shyt. |

I know you like to think that if poop comes a different pile it will stink less. It doesn't.
You don't like LE at 6 years 6 million. JVR or Hornqvist will be different? Probably not.
Ottawa isn't going to let go of Mark Stone. |
