Sanheim reminds me of 20-21 yoa coots. Gangly, Lacks agility, quiet kid. A defenseman that needs more work defensively but is good offensively. Coots was a center that needed much more work offensively but was excellent defensively. The learning curves on both of the these players i think will just be longer than most. You know it’s there just have to be patient

Agreed. Every kid isn't going to just step in and "get it" from day 1 like Provorov and a lot of folks forget that Ghost was nearly 23 when he had his breakthrough rookie season. Fans need to give these kids time to develop both physically and in the overall adaptation to NHL speed play. It takes time.

If Morin is healthy do a sanheim for Morin swap. Since Morin I actually believe has to be in the Nhl next year right?
- Tfaehner

The thing is that right now, as long as they keep winning, Hakstol isn't going to take any of the current 6 out of the lineup for Sanheim or Morin. I would send Sanheim down so that he can at least play, and bring up Alt to be the emergency spare. Once they are ready to bring a kid back into the lineup, then they can choose between Sanheim and Morin.

Manning hasn't played well. But he has played better in a defensive role than sanheim. I think if a more defensive 7th was up who also brought more physicality and board wins (something manning does better than sanheim) like Morin the coach would be more inclined to play him.

according to this he is still exempt next season but I think it is ridiculous if he isn't in the NHL next year.

Not sure if this is going to be great for Sanheim's development.
Only plus is he gets a bigger check, hang with the boys and see cool cities.
Maybe learn something by watching.

I thought cause he was a rfa this year we had to sign him to a nhl contract but makes sense. I guess next year his salary will just count the same no matter the league?

Agreed. As long he's playing it'll be fine. I'm glad we'll remain patient with him. He's got some amazing tools. I'm a couple years if hextall truly thinks we have a shot, we may need to part with some of the d studs to supplement the o, and maybe sanheim is a guy who gets flipped as d prospects like him are worth their weight in gold. For now, just be patient.

Ps: that's why I hated the hand trade of sergachev. Horrible and should cost him his job.

Weird they have the 5 years listed beside the # 4. I thought this was he is last year of waiver exemption as well.

We can resign him to a 2-way deal.

I would rather we try and lock up a few years on his contract. Like 3 years 3.75 million but of an overpayment now but good value when we assume he's getting top pk minutes

I don't care how many games New Jersey lost going into the break. They always find a way to frustrate the Flyers. It's nauseating.

I don't think 2-way deals has anything to do with waivers. I mean, you can have a one way deal after your initial ELC and still be sent down without waivers if you are still exempt. the rules to when you are and are not exempt are more than what I feel like reading

They're independent, yes. My point was that the Flyers don't have to sign him to a one-way deal.

Yeah you're right. 2 way deals are really just 2 different salaries you get paid depending what league your e in it has no influence on waiver exemption

You want to give a defensive, stay-at-home defender with 2 games of NHL experience a one-way, 3-year deal at $3.75M per year???
