Rollie melanson was the goalie coach. Bringing in Demko to play behind arguably one of the worst teams in the league .... being mentored by a guy that's never even started 35 games in a season , and has Dan Cloutier as his goalie coach....really screams proper development and setting Thatcher up to succeed doesn't it ?

Using that logic...hows it worked out for markstrom ? The best goaltender not in the NHL! Rushed straight into the league after 30 odd starts in the AHL. How's his career arc looking 8 full seasons later? I'll take overrippening in a competitive environment in the AHL then sitting up here on the bench.
