A lot is made of the fact that Ghost is high among the points leaders among defensemen, but all of those points are on the power play, and PP1 seemed to run okay yesterday without him. Some more illuminating stats: Provorov is 3rd among defensemen in even strength goals, and 12th in even strength points. So WHO is the best offensive defender on the team? Turns out, its the guy who also knows how to play defense. - hockeyal
I can only think of one defenceman I would keep over ghost....unfortunately Provorov doesn’t have a double. Lol.

Or some major injuries in the second half....eagles o line is better then the Saints for sure. Brees is under attack every play... - landros 2
I would definitely prefer the Saints. And honestly I'd take a matchup with the Pats right now before Minnesota. That defense is just too good. |

Be different out doors in the cold. Hopefully the forecast worsens. The Pats look like a video game, with Brady. Not gonna be easy but I’m stoked. |

Once again the Patriots are the recipients of incredible luck.
Yes, they are an all time great team. Having said that, they have also been ridiculously lucky numerous times. Tuck rule, Seahawks not handing the ball to Lynch, Falcons blowing a 28-3 lead, catch rule against the Steelers, among others.
This year, they have to beat Mariota, Bortles, and Foles to win another Super Bowl.
Oh and Brady backsliding into an MVP after Wentz goes down.
Also the new Star Wars movie is very good. Fanboys won’t like it because it is basically a hit piece against comic book and lore neckbeards. |

That part where Princess Leia was flying through space like Mary Poppins really tied the franchise together. |

I’ve read that exact same Mary poppins complaint on many a neckbeard forum. Nothing wrong with that scene in my opinion.
I hated the slaver scene though. So hokey. |

Agreed on the pats. Drives me mental the luck they have. It starts with being able to play in a division of sad sack high school teams year after year. They basically get to walk through the regular season without a worry about winning the division. And that's been for 10 years for gods sake. They get an automatic 5 wins a year then if they do happen to play a tough opponent, it seems it's always in foxboro. And they still find a reason or need to cheat. They're going to walk to another super bowl here and i wish someone would beat them but they won't.

I would like him a lot more if I didn't know that Provorov can be just as effective 5v4, and Ghost is only effective 5v4. |

Ugh not this again. Please.
I think you'll find most D men with lots of points usually rack up a ton of their numbers on the PP.
Ghost can certainly improve defensively but his size/frame ultimately limits him against bigger forwards. He's never going to play consistent shutdown D in this league. It's just not happening. There are some legitimate gripes to have with this current squad. I just don't understand why you continue to have it in for Gostisbehere. - hereticpride
Of the top 10 defensemen in points, Ghost is the only one who has more power play points than even strength. So, NOT usual.
I don't think that the Flyers can score enough goals to carry a defender who is a defensive liability. Or a center who can't win faceoffs. Its just Hockey 101. |

200ft hockey or gtfo. If there's one thing this team doesn't need it's offense anywhere and everywhere they can get it. - hereticpride
One stat the Flyers never led in was shorthanded goals allowed. Until the current PP1 lineup was established. 16-17 and 17-18, the Flyers power play looks even more anemic when you rank net goals. Lots of rushes the other way start on the stick of #53. |

I loved the backstory they gave to Snoke. And how the Rey/Ren bond that he was making stayed in tact after his departure. |

Exactly, the guy is fun to watch and very creative, let him play his game. We know he is not going to knock someone through the boards but he always has an active stick and his intelligence is very good. Who cares if most of his points are on the powerplay. As long as he is getting points it means they have scored a goal. |
