I was looking into how we actually got Gaudette since there's been all this hype about him lately. I never realized we essentially got him for free as he was the end result of picking Wiese up off waivers years ago

Three more points and counting for Barzal ! Not ready to concede the Calder just yet it would seem.
- Bullfrog77

I would say Barzal is the front runner at this point, such a special player, as is Boeser, but Barzal plays a tougher position and he's excelling at it.

They traded Raphael Diaz to Rangers for a 5th in 2015 and took him then.

I think we’ve both said all along that he’ll improve as the team does. He’s an elite complementary player. Not a guy who can carry 3rd liners but a guy who can make a legit scoring line better.

Plus the guy never seems to mope, still plays hard in all 3 zones and doesn’t seem like the type to mail it in after signing a big contracts.

His best in Vancouver is still to come.

Cant say I can agree with this.
Erikson has been in the league for many years, he knows what it takes to compete in this league. Yet Boeser has performed much better in his rookie year than we even expected from LE.
A couple seasons back it was McCann leading the team in scoring in his rookie year as well.
But what does it for me is how LE has does squat yet Dorsett of all people lead the team in scoring for quite some time before retiring. Not expected from any of the above players but it IS from your $6M player.

truly disappointed in LE. Shameful how he's performed

It will be down to the wire. Barzal also has a lot more help in terms of talent. Both at 5v5 and PP. Boeser also is scoring more goals which is also worth more at the end of the day. If they are neck and neck, i think Boeser edges out Barzal, Barzal will need to be a head of Boeser at the end of the season to guarantee Calder.
Boeser has goals, all star, and Rookie of the month last 2 months so far.

7 pt lead on Boeser now. Horvat needs to hurry back so he can help Boeser produce more. I just hope Barzal slows down a bit.

Yup. Thx to Montreal for trading Diaz for Weise, then Rangers take Diaz for a 5th(Gaudette).
Could work out very nice for us. Not a bad return for a waiver wire pickup.
Scraps.😁

How can you determine this when there's still half the season left to play?

Less goals from Barzal & an injured roster around Boeser u omitted out of convenience. Just saying. Omission is glaring if u look at the full picture. 😊 say it all it or be force fed by me. I challenge the slant u propose. Your objectivity is highly suspect.

That said I’ll continue to fill in the blanks u avoid. Bet on it👍

In the end as usual your posts lack full disclosure of the obvious. 👎

Let me say this first, I think they are both great young players, and I understand fans pulling for their guy, I'd personally love Boeser to win, however, I'm just calling it like I see it.

Glaring...ha-ha, that's laughable at best. Now there is some validity in what you say, but come on, quit with the theatrics, Barzal plays with Ladd (9 goals 9 assists) and Jordan Eberle (14 goals 22 assists) 5on5. It's not like he's playing with two superstars.

Boeser has 15 PP points and Barzal has 14, the only glaringly better player they have is Tavares, who plays with Bailey and Lee 5on5 and first PP unit.

If you've watched them play you know they both make others around them better, again, both are great young players, at this point I think Barzal has a slight edge. On a side note, Barzal's possession numbers are outstanding, the kid hangs onto the puck forever and dangles, it's impressive to watch.

As usual, your posts lack research but are full of arrogance, I'll continue to educate you and correct

Ok carry on about a 2C behind JT & pump his tires. Laughable indeed. Objectivity u lack as previously stated.

Who insulates Boeser?

Bend over...

Piece of smug crap that you are.
Always thought u were arrogant but thats an understatement.
