Personally I think it would be a mistake and set the club back even further in the rebuild department. But the decisions that have been made in the past would suggest that he will be gone. The hiring of 1st year rookies like Desjardins, Green, Linden and Benning scream desperation by Aquilli.

I am not sure how I feel about it. I think Jim has been okay but nothing special. He has had a lot of high draft picks to work with so I am not fully sold on a drafting guru. Pettersson Gaudette and Brock are probably the big reason he has not been fired.

I can see some hope now but he has been at it for four years and again he has had three top 6 picks .

My problem is I don't know who is better and available .

Gaudette was a 5th rounder and Boeser was 23rd OA. Lind and gadj fromt he 2nd round are looking good so far. Demko from 2nd round looks like a solid NHL starter in the future. he has done more draftwise for us than Gillis ever did, with a smaller sample size and paying off a lot faster as well. Benning has been better than Holland recently I think. Would hate to have that guy be our GM. Rather have Benning back

Very true. Some gaffes sure like all GM's but Benning has put together a pretty good mix of youth and prospects. Does he deserve a shot to finish off his vision I guess would be the big question?
