You're listing jobs that require you to already have assets and capital.
Have to have a car, insurance, etc. Same with ticket flipping.
People come out of college with no job opportunities and they're faced with crippling debt. There are now two options: do what you said, get a $10 an hour job, remain in debt in perpetuity, or double down and go to grad school and increase your debt load.
We're not talking about delivering pizza money, we're talking tens of thousands of dollars plus interest. It's a different world. - jcragcrumple

I used those two as the primaries....as far as I know, Johnson doesn't have a no-trade clause...
and...
you really hate bogo - Michael Pachla
Not a Johnson fan...
but we should definitely make that trade if available
Gets us out of Bogo’s contract
And the hate here on Bogo is almost certainly much higher than how he’s seen across the league
Not that I’m saying he’s an all-star or anything
Just that I don’t think all the league’s
GMs see him as the garbage player he’s described as by most here |

Homie described the offers for him being 5th/6th rounders in the summer...before his most recent debacle of a season.
He's cooked imo, at least as long as hes attached to that cap hit. |

Right but he derailed this entire thread with his first post
and then I'm getting poop for it.
guy's great when... he talks about hockey.
everything else and I'm not surprised they hired Shawlinda over him. - BeadyEyedDouche
i just skip right over the non hockey talk tbh, idk why you got poop for it though. |

I think botts is just setting expectations too high here, you'd think he would have learned from the previous GM.
Not saying he can't or won't get it, but now after the ask if he doesn't get that it will look like failure - Sabresfan-365
Totally disagree
GMs almost always “ask” for more than they end up getting
That’s not failure
That’s negotiating |

How are you going to react if they get more than a 4th and a used garbage bag for him? |

He wasn’t terrible this season
Just hurt again
His salary is most likely why offers were that low
To your point,
we could retain some salary
Would be better than buying him out |

Honestly with all these self help (ranging from any category) blogs out there if you're the guy or girl that goes out and picks up a book you're ahead of 95% of your peers. |

If you simply read a book cover these days you're already smarter than 90% of your peers, tbh |

I think a good deal is a 1st, b prospect and conditional pick.
If it's a little lower, thats unfortunate but the main win for me is not tying themselves to another awful contract. Anything higher and it's a great deal. |

I agree but there's a key difference between hope and expectations. If he brought back a 1st and a b prospect would you consider that a good return? - Sabresfan-365
Of course the answer is yes to that. |

To be fair, how do we know what is out there is what he has actually said he is expecting to get in return from teams?
Because somebody like Dreger says it, does not mean it is true, especially with Dreger's track record recently. |

right?
By the eye test,
He wasn’t terrible imo |

yes, i hate really bad hockey players. Combine that with old school mentality and outdated form of defensive play...woof.
Bogo is a microcosm of everything wrong with the sabres. - Sabresfan-365
i'll give you the game has changed and that style of play isn't as effective any more, but you make it sound like he's an ahl'er

I'm pretty sure Bogo stole 365's lunch money for years while 365 was growing up.
It's the only logical explanation for his level of hatred for him. |

I'm firmly in the "if someone has offered you a prospect on the cusp, pull the trigger now" camp.
I just know Kane is gonna dive into a wall at 55 mph while we're losing 5-1 and blow his shoulder up into 100 pieces |

Well I guess I missed it
Still man...
u can express your opinions without being suck a d!ck
I disagree with a lot of the conservatives on here too
No reason to flip out like you’re doing though
Take a breath
Step back from the ledge
And we can go back to talking about hockey if the other stuff is bothering u so much
Just try n skip over it like 365 said |

You have no sense of humor, a mountain of self-absorption, little to no judgment, and a proclivity over-react by orders of magnitude.
Sit down somewhere else, get a hold of yourself, and take a few deep breaths. |
