My sister is 26 graduated only 2 years ago. Barely has any college debt and is almost set at a down payment for a house.

But then again, she works a part time side job on the weekends that seem to be beneath you or all the other people that “can’t make it.”

Your sister’s “barely any college debt” is the exception...

This only applies to bullpoop degrees like interior design, art history, literature, philosophy, phys ed...

Not actual, useful degrees. And I'm not even talking about tough ones like engineering, law, med, pharmacy. Hell an associate's in physical therapist assistant(tons of available jobs) and you can make $45K(that's the median salary for a PTA). Even with just a high school diploma you can make $25K as an aide. How many 18 year olds make $25K or more that aren't drug dealers?

Ouch. No one cares about the humanities. There are needs in this world beyond engineering a better refrigerator motor. Full disclosure: English/German bachelor's. GF is has a master's in Arts Administration.

My older sister went to Boces in high school for nursing (no college) and makes 50k. Not great but still lives well. A lot of other classes there pay 25-50k right out of high school if you applied yourself and you never have to go in debt.

I went for teaching for under 50k. Knocked most of that off while going living at home and working two jobs. Same with my younger sister, albeit in a different field.

It’s an exception because most of the kids I speak to her age say they can’t work because “it’s too hard to do both”.

Sure some degrees are more money but those incomes are what make it worth it.

Aber natürlich. I'm not saying we don't need those people. I'm saying we don't need as many of those people as get those degrees.

Most of the people who get those degrees went the easy way just for the piece of paper and wonder why they can't find jobs. And the ones that do find one find one that has nothing to do with what they went to school for.

Yea it was like once a week. Pretty basic. Just like 2 chicken fingers on a sub roll. But easily my favorite dish. Came with fries or the optional white rice I believe.

Some people actually did this. And some became millionaires if they timed it right.

Seems like the ones whining about student loan debt, didn't do anything for themselves besides "working on school." Years of school later, they feel entitled to a job, and wont work for less than they think they deserve. Great, you earned a degree, go find work. But, that all comes down to the parents making their lives too easy.

Before 15, I was delivering 150 papers every day, and tar/sealing driveways. "How many times do I have to mix this tar?" "About 100 turns, then 50 more." Worked my ass off until I was a broken horse.

After 15, I worked in retail and various side jobs.

After 21, I started my career, still making ends meet doing side jobs for extra $$.

Coming up on 30, I've been in my career for 9 years (on paper) and have finally started to get ahead.

No one told me to work two jobs, you just have to when the grind doesn't provide.

The best part, ITT Tech closed and I have 20k in loans for a degree doesn't exist. I'm not bitter about it. You have to piss with the cock you got.

The brain will play games and make you feel tired, but the human body can go for much longer just because you're tired. No excuses.

There are a lot of factors there.

7 bucks an hour sent home to Mexico/Honduras/Haiti is huge to them.

7 bucks an hour to an American for that kind of labor isn't worth it. If they want to attract competent American workers, they have to pay more, and yes, the commodity prices will increase, but the lawmakers should have known that.

The most frightening thing to me was the prison labor crew. Having an economy based on the need for prison labor encourages mass incarceration

Beady, care to share your experience then? What did you get your degree in, what school. How much you work (or I’m guessing didn’t), to make your life so hard, when others your age are excelling?

"Pretty basic". I would've killed for that! We got fries like once a month. And that was only in high school. Usually with chicken nuggets. That was the best thing, because they were both pre-made and only required warming up, or frying. Seriously, NT was the worst.

Yeah, always got a slushee. Kiwi-Strawberry I think? It was red, that's all I remember. 2 soft pretzels and a slushee was my lunch for junior and senior years. I ate real food at work after school.

Yea i looked forward to it. Got down there early to beat the lines as it was a highly anticipated menu item.

If I remember correctly, Chicken patties were a standard option that you could get daily. But the actual chicken fingers were a special entree served once a week.
