This is an outstanding blog:
Your points in regards to bogo are excellent.
Spot on with both sides of the discussion :
Hope they can get something for him, especially if they eat a portion of the contract, like you suggested. - Boss34
Certainly makes more sense to eat salary for 2yrs than to buy him out & have him affect the Cap for 4 years |

Trade a 3rd for Andy Dalton... 3-2 Sabres Reinhardt with the shootout winner and the post stops all three shots for Lehner. |

I agree. Bogos had so much potential. I remember being so excited when we landed him. |

Me too
He just can’t stay healthy
Even when he’s played for us he was rarely at 100% |

1st for Lehner if Chicago offers? Be better than the first we gave - lulags
I’d be SHOCKED if we got a 1st for him
I think a 2nd is reasonable though |

What does Chicago do next year with Lehner when Crawford is back?
I guess they could try to trade him
But it would probably make more sense to just give up a 3rd for an ok goalie who’s contract is expiring |

Chicago could move lehner for a pick at the draft. Or treat the trade as a UFA and let him walk.
If he gets them in the playoffs, it's the same as a rental |

I wouldn't want to let Let Lehner go for a 3rd. More value in resigning him |

True
I just don’t see them giving up a lot for him
I think a 2nd is the most we can hope for
Maybe we get another pick with that if a few teams are bidding on him
I don’t see us getting a 1st or a good prospect though |

I think a 2nd seams fair. Not sure if he's really worth that even. Supply and demand. Guys start getting hurt.....
If we do get a 2nd, does tmgm get off the hook with the trade for him?
Basically the trade boils down too:
Our late 1st
For 100 plus games of nhl hockey at the goaltender position, legwand.and a second
The first never bothered me . It's hockey not football

Idk about “off the hook” completely
I see your logic,
but it was still an overpayment at the time
And whatever happened to that favor that Uncle Brian supposedly owed us?

Kane left no doubt he would have entertained negotiations on an extension if the Sabres had approached him and his representatives from Newport Sports Management in Mississauga, Ont.

Some of you know that I have been pretty frustrated lately as my 16 year old kid is starting to smoke a hell of a lot of weed - more than I can be cool about. He's getting in trouble at school and its getting in the way of other stuff he used to be pretty good at.
It is especially frustrating that he buys paraphernalia and has it sent to the house. Most of the time we don't even know, I'm sure, because my wife and I both work, but occasionally I work from my home office, or sometimes the delivery shows up on the weekend, and then hell breaks loose.
I'm working from home today. Around 2:30 the doorbell rings, its the UPS guy with an Amazon package for my kid. I'm grinding my teeth cause I'm pissed off and I'm sure there's gonna be another fight over whatever pipe or bong or whatever he bought this time.
When he came home from school, I made him come into my office and open the package in front of me. He gets all huffy and says he won't do it, but I make him, and finally he opens the package.
Its a carton of 100 condoms. I'm like, "WTF are you doing with 100 rubbers??" He says, "I sell them at school. I can buy a carton for like $25, and I get $1.00 each for them. I make about $70 every two weeks."
So take that, all you millenials. The American Dream is alive and well.

That’s interesting
Maybe the supposed $7mil price tag was just too much for them?

I used to love that show. Saturday mornings at my dad's my sister and I used to watch it. When I was really young(5) Robert Stack's voice used to scare the poop out of me.
