I would like to see our entire 4 th line changed.

At center Winnik Sceviour or Nolan

LW Hendricks D Grant or Archibald

RW Smith-Pelly Hansen Wingles or Drew Stafford.

All these players can be signed for a million. Three mil to fix your fourth line and it would hit and score.

I think most of these players would want some term. I agree that 4th line outs trash, we need to replace the third lounge as well if you want to let the twins walk.

But it is from where he is at right now. And he could do that with a number of other teams....why stay in Van and do it?

Because this is now his poop show. He may have been called into the principles office too many times and he just wants to get back to drafting and developing just like he said in this mornings quote to Daliwhal . He never said I want to be GM he said I want to continue drafting and developing . I am sure at age 54 he doesn't want to be taking more public speaking and math courses, he just wants to get back to hockey

Lots of good young educated well spoken candidate's out there, hiring a dinosaur to take over is a a step in the wrong direction.

So just because he didn’t say it, you’re taking it as he doesn’t want to be the GM? If that’s the case then he should have stayed in Boston.

He just said he likes being the GM and hopes to re-sign, apples and oranges.

“I’m going to keep doing the work,” Benning told Sportsnet as the Canucks prepared to end their winter break with a road game against the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday. “We’re on the right path with the drafting and the development of our young players. We’re going in the right direction. We’re partway through where we want to be.

Here is the quote . I don't see anything about him wanting to be GM.

Totally agree. Similar experiences I worked in manufacturing building Fire Trucks and Boats for close to 20 years and at time was supervising over 40 people...never again.

Been offered managerial jobs here with my current position and nope...declined.

Less cash but super happy.

Is that not a reference to his job? As GM?

Because these are the kids HE drafted. He has vested time and effort in to them. They mean more to him than other teams prospects.

I think Gaudette is NHL-ready as well, but what if he wants to wait until late March or early April to sign? He may only play 3-4 games or none at all. Hardly enough to convince Green that he's NHL-ready.

GM's and coach's think really conservatively about young players.

Hell, Boeser lit it up last year and in camp this year and was a heathy scratch to start the season.

Im just saying, I think it's more likely than not that the Sedins are back for 1 more year.

- Nucker101

I questioned this earlier. I get the feeling that Canuck management had no idea what they had in Boeser. I think they were just as surprised about his ability to compete (and at times dominate) in the NHL as the fans were.

Goes back to my point, how do you know if a player is NHL ready if you don't give them a shot in the actual NHL?

Linden, Benning, and Green.

No it's not .

There is a big cloud of suspicion about Benning and the GM position , all he had to say was we are in negotiations things are going well. I like being a GM.

All he said was I will continue to do the work I want to keep on drafting and developing . Stan Smyl gets promoted to VP of washroom care Jim Benning Player D&D

I heard a report yesterday suggesting that Holland will most likely be given another position with the Red wings organization.
