He has Tavares
A lot of talented kids bust out simply because they are not insulated and asked to put the team on their shoulders at 18 years old.
That being said, Bo is ready to step up and be the guy to show the youngsters the way. I don't think we need the twins anymore. I want the younger guys learning from Bo and Boeser. They work hard as well, but they also back check and play defense. They have a compete level I never saw in the Twins. THAT is what our younger players need to learn, not how to quickly skate off the ice after you lose the puck because your afraid of your own zone. - Retinalz
Rebuilding teams do not bring back two 38 year olds with NMC sorry .

Here-ye, oh Hear-ye.
I think Benning should stay. His scouting is top knotch. Yes, he has his Erikssons but for every Ekiksson there is a Goldobin.

Sutter
Granlund
It's not Benning's fault that Dorset retired. Did anyone else notice the Canucks slide did NOT begin with Horvat's injury but with Dorset's?
I think we are better now than when Benning started.
I think we are on a good course.
Keep Benning.

Bo will be in his 5th season next fall. People still think he won't provide adequate leadership with the help of a few older vets not named the Sedins? Bo won't be a leader until he's what,,,, 7 years in the league? OK.
People are faking wanting a rebuild I swear. |

Who mentored Schieffle McDavid Eichel - VANTEL
I agreed with not re-signing the twins...
Eichel had RoR to insulate him a bit. As far as learning to be a pro, he is a giant douche.
McDavid is a special case. Impossible to screw up him being a Superstar.
Scheiffle had Little playing infront of him until he came into his own as a legit #1.
The vast majority of 1c in this league had someone playing in front of him. Players like McDavid and Crosby are rare. They are called generational for a reason.
Bo is ready to be our 1C now and insulate EP to be our future 1C. So I repeat, the twins are not needed anymore. Outside of JVR for the right price we shouldn't go after any big UFA targets, he likely won't come here anyways. Carlson would be a good target as well, but again we can't get him unless we overpay and we should not be doing that.
Next season is a good season to let a prospect or two sink or swim. Maybe dumpster dive a week or 2 after July 1 for possible TDL trades. |

So basically you're saying it doesn't have to be two untradeable 38 year olds that are needed to mentor.

They've done their job. Bo, Tanev, Sutter can mentor just fine. |

I am not arguing that they haven't . But it is time to try something different. |

Is Pacioretty the biggest fraud in the league? He's career highlight is getting his noodle shamoodled by Chira. Seriously.... He is not that good. Average at best. |

Some interesting mid-tier UFA's for next season for people who want a fast/aggressive team and want to avoid signing any guys who are 32+ to multi-year deals.
DMen
Calvin De Haan
Brayden McNabb
Forwards
Patrick Maroon
David Perron
Antonio Roussel
Michael Grabner
Not many centers who are 30 or under that will be affordable. |

No. He's just miscast. He's not a good captain. And probably needs a fresh start in a place that has less of a spotlight. He's a 1st line winger.

I'd leave Benning be. He's building a good team just need to be patient. No ease fix. Players are being drafted with skill and character. He needs luck to draft Dahlin. Franchise defenceman would change everything. I support his pick of Joulevi. Benning understands that without defense you have zero chance of contending. Only through the draft you get good young defenseman. Because teams don't trade the special guys. |

Then why was OJ the only dman that Benning has drafted in the first 2 rounds in 4 years? |
