Some interesting mid-tier UFA's for next season for people who want a fast/aggressive team and want to avoid signing any guys who are 32+ to multi-year deals.

DMen
Calvin De Haan
Brayden McNabb

Forwards
Patrick Maroon
David Perron
Antonio Roussel
Michael Grabner

Not many centers who are 30 or under that will be affordable.

If we traded guddy,
I’d be happy to pick up either Dmen listed, off the top of my head.
None of the forwards imo.
Evander Kane.

I'd prefer to stick with 1-3 year deal UFA's. Signing Kane for 6 years at 6-7M with a full NTC isn't what I'd do with a bottom 5 team.

I actually like Kane as a player on the ice, and it's great that he's such a young UFA, but now is not the right time for this franchise.

Patience. Splurge on UFA's when making the playoffs is realistic.

No sarcasm bloated, both Horvat and Boeser have spoken on interviews that they are amazed at the fitness level, the commitment the Sedins put in day in and day out.

I mean you guys can have your little pile on group tug a wug, and comment 20,000 times a day(not you alone, but collectively) about the ineffectiveness of the Sedins. But there are a few of us that know the real truth and are not blinded by pure hatred.

Carry on with your hate now boys, sorry to interrupt with a realist approach..

Then why was OJ the only dman that Benning has drafted in the first 2 rounds in 4 years?

Rebuilding teams do not bring back two 38 year olds with NMC sorry .

Who mentored Schieffle McDavid Eichel

You.... actually want to compare our team to these two... damn three.
This....
Buffalo and Edmonton are horrible teams that had they had the twins while those players came into the league probably wouldn't be so crappy... and don't compare the canucks 3 years of suckable play to the decade plus they have endured, same with Winnipeg, years of ineptitude eventually resulting in a winning product, I assume you're trolling with these examples because they arn't proving your point... at all.

biggest issue is if you let Henrik walk you're left with this at C:

1. Horvat
2. Sutter
3. Gaudette?
4. Dowd?

1) You don't want young wingers with offensive promise playing with Sutter. He's not a 2nd line center or a PP player.

2) You're banking on Gaudette being NHL-ready for top 9 minutes and getting signed. I'm as high as anyone else on him, but I doubt Green/Benning feel comfortable with this.

3) You're a significant Horvat or Sutter injury away from another tank. Sutter hasn't actually stayed healthy as a Canuck.

4) Most of the UFA centers are old geezers like Henrik and/or guys that will command multi-year contracts with decent $$$.

5) Gagner sucks at C, outside of that one big game with Boeser/Vanek, he's been ass as a center.

Ideally you can sign a guy like Stastny or to a 2 year deal or something, but why would he come here? And he'd likely want a full NTC to get convinced.

I think Hobey Baker finalist will do just fine next year like those before him will make the Canucks . I do believe we do need a 4 th line center that is why I am hoping for slow Nolan who will at least bang people. I think a short term 3x3.5 for Maroon will be ok as a third line guy .

I think Gaudette is NHL-ready as well, but what if he wants to wait until late March or early April to sign? He may only play 3-4 games or none at all. Hardly enough to convince Green that he's NHL-ready.

GM's and coach's think really conservatively about young players.

Hell, Boeser lit it up last year and in camp this year and was a heathy scratch to start the season.

Im just saying, I think it's more likely than not that the Sedins are back for 1 more year.

And then Benning almost has to sign the Sedins. No way he's going into July 1st with

Horvat
Sutter
Dowd

If you can get a decent 3LC for Hutton or Stecher then sure.

Really wish Benning asked for a guy like Perrault from Anaheim in the Kesler deal. They didn't even bother giving him a qualifying offer and he became a UFA that summer so he would have been a throw-in.

This could be a trade deadline where we see a hockey player instead of pick/prospect added. A actual hockey trade.

would probably be for one of the young dmen. That's the only moveable piece of interest the Canucks have on their roster for a hockey trade. Doubt they move Sven since the team is already weak at LW if Vanek is traded, and Sven's trade value is probably not too high anyway.

I hear it's neck and neck between Linden and Gilman for the GM job. Been wondering why Gilman has been circling over the crime scene.

If it's Holland then the Sedins are 100% back and Edler may get a contract extension
