Benning to I-Mac on Sportsnet : “We’re on the right path with the drafting and the development of our young players. We’re going in the right direction. We’re partway through where we want to be. - manvanfan
I will first say I am just pointing out a fact because I was on board with Gudbrandson trade but Jim has let go McCann Forsling Tryamkin some seconds He has let go several draft picks like Neill and a few Euros.
A strong case could be made against the development , especially if they let Gudbranson walk |

Bad injuries, bad reffing and bad luck.
Other than that, there's nothing wrong with this team.
- RealityChecker
Do we have the depth to cope with these "bad injuries"?
Bad reffing
Bad luck Kind of like the draft lottery? This isn't bad luck, it's a conspiracy initiated by Gary Bettman.
It's the bad Feng shui in Rogers arena. |

The #Canucks have 23 players on the roster already - so when Horvat is ready to go, a move has to be made.
Only players not requiring waivers are Jake Virtanen and Brock Boeser. |

Good times for JB. Jake's not going to be happy if he goes down. |

I liked the EG trade based on team needs.
I don't think JB was wrong in trading away some 2nd round picks. He got the team some 30 point forwards out of it. If not for trading for some of those 2nds, the team "could" have a bunch of older players on worse contracts. Or younger players that wouldn't be helping the team currently. Win some, lose some.
Pettit, Neill, Olson are the only players that JB let go and Neill and Pettit weren't picked up by any NHL team and have gone to Canadian college's. Olson isn't even playing anymore.
Euro's you get 4 years to sign them. Zhukenov and Jasek don't need to be signed until the end of next season.
I think the development is a work in progress. Just partway through. |
