Wed have to retain 50 percent

I’m no CBA ninja, so someone feel free to correct me, but I don’t think you can retain salary on a signing bonus, and almost all of Lui’s money is bonus $. The good news is the final two (I think) years are all cap hit with very little salary/bonus money and even NTC changes.

Benning to I-Mac on Sportsnet : “We’re on the right path with the drafting and the development of our young players. We’re going in the right direction. We’re partway through where we want to be.

I didn't start a conversation with you. You chose to chime in. I didn't ask for your opinion. You thought to make fun of me and someone else. Do you not think it I would respond?

OJ is still 19 not 20 , and how much more credit for drafting would GMJB get if Tryamkin was here and dominating ?

great job of using the Eklund model to drive up hits Carol

My WILD guess for the next Canuck's GM and why...

Ray Ferraro

>Italian
>>No GM experience
>>>Market would slurp it up (for awhile)

I seen the list of 8 for possible replacements . Four of them are assistant GMs and might just be starting all over again. Benning was a coveted assistant GM with no experience.

Fararro to me is a definite no as a GM and a maybe as an assistant. I think he would get eaten alive.

Lombardi Flecher I would be okay with . Both have had success building in the West ( league ) Advantage Lombardi

Holland no for me.

Gilman . History with the team. Contract experience. Analytic friendly . Media savvy .Was part of Canucks most successful build. Has a very good feel of current player evaluation. I would not complain about a Gilman Bracket combo

I liked the EG trade based on team needs.

I don't think JB was wrong in trading away some 2nd round picks. He got the team some 30 point forwards out of it. If not for trading for some of those 2nds, the team "could" have a bunch of older players on worse contracts. Or younger players that wouldn't be helping the team currently. Win some, lose some.

Pettit, Neill, Olson are the only players that JB let go and Neill and Pettit weren't picked up by any NHL team and have gone to Canadian college's. Olson isn't even playing anymore.

Euro's you get 4 years to sign them. Zhukenov and Jasek don't need to be signed until the end of next season.

I think the development is a work in progress. Just partway through.

- manvanfan

Those were his biggest mistakes. Those picks would be coming in to the NHL as of next season and the players he used to pick up with those picks are no longer in the nhl or sven.

Sven is a middle 6 winger and those can be had via free agency.

Those are moves that a team in a playoff spot makes not one of the worst teams in the NHL.

Too bad the Hughes kids are so small. Lots of talent but Hughes is the only player in the top end of this draft I dont want.
