Henrik is 79th in the NHL in points per 60 mins at 5v5 amongst all regular forwards.
You're a smart man, Donny, do the math. He's still easily a top 6 player offensively in the NHL by those numbers.
Remember when the Canucks used players like Wellwood, Hodgson, Demitra, Bernier, Torres in 3rd line roles while Kesler/Henrik/Malhotra played harder mins? That's the exact role they'd play, and they'd probably do better at it offensively than some of those guys did. - Nucker101
Sheltered minutes, cushy PP assignments and offensive zone starts. They are decent players but they aren't top 6 on a playoff team. Do you really want the Sedin's in your bottom 6 getting defensive assignments in the playoffs? Agree to disagree. |

According to Href ozone starts for Daniel and Henrik is 74.6% That's highest in the league i believe. |

You could just not give them defensive assignments... |

Thank you for doing the research for me - CanuckDon
I had noticed it yesterday. Technically anyone who has played half the games Ryan Spooner is higher. He's only played 24 games though.
4th and 5th is Sergachev and Tarasenko. |

Depends how your team is structured. I guess the Canes are a bit different in that the majority of their forwards are two-way or primarily defensive guys anyway. |

Yeah, like I said, it has to be on a team where they have a legit top line already and another line that handles tough minutes. Those 2 lines would do the heavy lifting.
1st line would play against other team's top pairings
2nd line would have to be a Kesler/Backlund type of line that can score and play against other top lines
3rd line would be the Sedins, used in a similar fashion that AV did with his 3rd lines
4th line = another checking line |

This.
Canes are one of the teams that could easily give the Sedins sheltered mins + 2nd unit PP time and their team would benefit from it. |

It makes sense if you have one dominant offensive player like Tarasenko....but the Sedin's aren't our top offensive players but they always get preferential treatment. That would stop on a good team. |

It's structured that Daniel and Henrik get 75% of ozone starts.
Brendan Gaunce is 86% Dzone starts. Highest in the league. Sutter 72% |

Yeah, their numbers are definitely inflated with those o-zone starts. But even if cut that back to 60%, they'd still produce offensively as an offensive 3rd line for a good team. |

Yes, I understand what you are saying and it could be possible there is a fit out there...I just have trouble seeing a team finding space for them. If we could retain salary on both perhaps it would be a different story. Perhaps if a top team loses a key offensive player for the season that could create a market for them. |

Agreed.
I'd be shocked if they go anywhere. And there's very few teams that they'd fit in nicely with. And of those few teams, barely any have that kind of cap space. |

I think you look at a team like VGK and NJ. Dank and Hank would be like 6th in scoring on VGK and 2nd and 3rd on NJ. It's really not about the numbers anymore if it isn't done with speed.
Look at Jagr 46 points last season. Would of had 30ish points this season playing limited minutes in Calgary over an entire season. Now being sent away.
The game has just passed them by. |

I agree, they are fine on our team because we have low expectations and nobody else but I don't think they belong in the playoffs at this stage. Time to retire fellas, thanks for the fond memories
You are welcome Vantel |
