teams aren’t suddenly gonna take the “B” prospect off the table & change their best offer to a “C” prospect

And then at 2:30 on deadline day you're just scrambling to get whatever you can since kane has one foot out the door. maybe its picks, lesser prospects or whatever. Because the buyers arent going to sit around and wait, they've got heat on them two. most will have just gone to their plan B.

Their losses are connected to having a potato for a GM, not their drafting. In the context of this OEL thing, it makes more sense to get the cost effective d-man with the high ceiling rather than trade for a guy you'll probably have to pay 11 mil.
