Sounds like Brooksie is drinking some bad brew lately. Ranger fans would luv to get their hands on Willie. Oh well another good laugh for Lou Lams at the very least. - Leafsmart
not saying it would happen but Marner is more realistic than Nylander |

I don't see it as a fit, to be honest..
..The Leafs needs are a top 4 RHD, a depth Center and a decent back up goalie.. (I don't think McIlhenny can carry the load if something happens to Andersen)
McDonagh does not fill any of those needs. |

Would it possible to pry Petry away from the Habs? I keep hearing they are in rebuild mode so will Petry want out and would Montreal trade with Toronto? |

Petry is a -24 this year.. The Habs would probably ask for Nylander ++ |

It would be a bold move for sure.. You would have to hope that Rask turns into a Kadri type player, but we'd get a legit Top 4 RHD. Which solves a need |

At the moment it might seem more realistic, but I really doubt Lou is that short sighted. Marner is not having a great season so far, and has had a lot of screw ups lately, but he's already a legit top 6 guy with a 60+ point rookie season. It'd be stupid to trade him.
McDonaugh is an interesting target. I haven't read Brooks' article. Was he suggesting you guys give up on the playoffs this season, cause I don't see how trading McDonaugh is going to help your chances to make them.
If that was the idea then maybe the Leafs would be tempted to trade some picks/prospects.
I'd assume our 1st this year would be in any offer, plus one or two of our better prospects and maybe another pick of some sort? Not sure what roster player we'd be willing to give up and whether that would be a necessity for the trade.
While a lot of people seem to be pretty high on Andreas Johnson (among Leafs fans), since we have a lot of wingers maybe he could be part of the deal. Or Kapanen, who seems decent but hasn't managed to crack our roster full time.
The only prospect of ours I'd really hate to have in the trade is Liljegren. I really think that guy is gonna be a solid NHLer in another year or two.
McDonaugh is definitely a solid player and should get a decent haul if you guys moved him, but I don't know what the Leafs would be prepared to give up. |

oh if they move him its cause this year is cooked (it is already) I'd imagine Zucc would be on the table as well. Im fine with trading them both for picks and prospects |

Marner clearly sucks and needs to be cut, not traded.
7th in scoring this year amongst all guys from the 2015 draft.
Unlike Nylander, who is 7th in scoring this year amongst all guys from the 2014 draft. |
