No, just no. Think about it for a second. They'd have to make a law, which means it's in the public record, and you can be damn sure any kind of gun law and those nuts in the NRA(sorry, not sorry, they're against expanded background checks) would be all over it like poop on velcro. Then you'd have a massive rush to buy all the guns, and since there are bad people in this world a good number of them would disappear into the black market and the next time you saw them was a crime being committed with them.

Even with the best of intentions the government can't get their poop straight. Google "Operation Fast and Furious guns". It's just not feasible. And then you'd have people open up shop making guns, it's actually quite easy to make a gun. It might not be able to fire 10,000 rounds, but you don't need it to. Even if it just fires once that's enough.

That poop wouldn't happen if you have a gun control environment if you make it illegal these things won't happen .

You realize the armed forces are specifically prohibited from operating in the US in a law enforcement capacity right? There is a loophole though; the sitting president would have to suspend the Posse Comitatus Act and then you could call in the military. But all that takes a poopload of time and by the time the military gets onsite whatever was taking place would likely be long over. That's why the FBI has the Hostage Rescue Team(HRT), but they only have a few of them stationed around the US and they take hours to get to a place because they have to be invited by the governor of the state the bad poop is happening in on top of probably having to fly for ~2 hours to get where they need to get to.

And the cops are unequipped to handle something like that. You watch too much TV.

I made my wife take the safety classes before we got them

both are hidden but easy to get to, and my wife feels safer while I am at work, if she has a shotgun to pump, which usually does the trick down here

Not everyone takes the steps u & your wife have
The “accidental” shooting stats bear that out

To answer your question though...
u also don’t want guns in the hands of untrained ppl
Bc if the average person tries to return fore in a theatre, church, mall, etc...
he’s probably gonna hit the ppl scrambling away & not even the bad gu
That just does additional harm, even if they do eventually hit the mark

Now...
if u want to say that ALL ppl who carry a gun are required to have LEGIT TRAINING...

THEN, (and only then), will u have a population of gun bearing ppl who can actually “save the ppl”
