I see very few people throwing out his save % lately - sbroads24
Funny how that works.
I have been telling people to just watch him for a long time now.
All the stats in the world didnt and were/are never going to make him good. |

You do know every draft isn't as deep as that 2015 draft right? You know since you can't let go of it - Stripes77
In all fairness it was the draft that set us back another few years. |

To say first round picks are not valued is also short sighted. - TheHank
I said late first round picks
It is not short sighted there's math behind it
Percentages of players drafted top 5, 6-10, 11-15, etc of them making a career in the NHL based on where they are selected

Correct
Each draft is different
This years draft isn't 2015 though and neither is next years.
Late first rounders in those two drafts are eh |

Also correct.
The sabres arent good this year nor were they in 2015.
It was said then and ill still say it now, until they are any good i will take all the picks i can get before acquiring players and paying out any contracts with term. Oreilly, kane, bogo, lehner, okposo... Where has it gotten us? By the time we are good they will either be gone or aging anchors here.

First one was Matthews 2nd one was Ovechkin. Both from last year. Even the best players struggle. Using a 12 game sample size is weak. |

Strange ,
Okposo has been playing better.
Okposo is playing better with eichel
Kane , not playing better
Kane is not playing with eichel
Seriously though: okposo is playing well, we need him to be a 60 point guy , otherwise it's another bad contract - Boss34
I've been waiting a while for someone to actually "click" with Jack. I think Reinhart has some chemistry with him, but the rest just look like square pegs for round holes.
I like how Okposo's board play compliments Jack's ability to distribute. In last night's game, I saw Okposo retrieve the puck twice, get the puck to Jack, go straight to the net and get a quality shot off. If he can continue to do this I think 60 pts is about what you'll get. |

In his first 9 full seasons he hit 60 points twice.
Ppg over 82 games hes a 56.6.
I hope his production goes up after 30yrs old but im not counting on it. |

You know what I liked last night out of okposo, was the physical play. He was forcing his will.
Kyle and jack definitely click.
6 million - 60 points isn't bad
McDavid 12.5 million next year
100 points last year

Good stats research
Maybe I should be expecting 6 million and around 55 points.
Anything is better than the beginning of this year

Sure, if you expect him to play 82 games per year.
His expected points per year is actually 45.44 |

It's delicious!
But really 1 in every 5 years there's a really good player that drops to the 25th range that is ready in 2-3 years or sooner
Those odds aren't great.
That would be why Botterill doesn't just want draft picks for Kane... |
