As I recall he played 81 games last year. Who is to say he wouldn't this year if Hextall had signed him. Tough fall from grace when an every day top 12 forward in the NHL, suddenly isn't good enough to play anywhere else in the NHL

If it wasn’t for Manning’s drug issues I could support him as a player.

It would be pretty great if Sanheim was up and playing during this nice little run the team is on. Would probably do wonders for his confidence.

And since we have established that this is complaining about something that has such a minuscule effect on the team, logic states that it wouldn't have mattered much if he were in fact inserted into the lineup. But Flyers gonna Flyer. Gotta carry the lunch pail to work first.

I guess we will have to wait for all three of the following to happen instead...

1.) Sanheim logs heavy minutes upon return to the Phantoms, eventually regaining his confidence.

2.) Manning gets injured.

3.) The Flyers lose several games in a row.

Has anyone been following VdV lately? Is he ok? Must have had some serious problems, personal or otherwise, to go from being a regular NHL player (ya know, the kind a coach can rely on for solid minutes and provide some sandpaper to his game), to being out of the league entirely.

Just want to point out, Couts didn't come into the league as an 18year old scoring 49 points in 48 games.

Players will have to learn how to play in the NHL, which is a part of development.

Couts came into the league with a phenomenal hockey IQ and was fully equipped to take on a checking role from the get go. He wasn't kept In the NHL to develop. He earned a spot out of camp and continued to improve over 7 seasons.

I dont think Sanheim has earned anything yet. He played 35 games and didn't make a definitive case to stay In the line up. That being said, I don't think it will be long until he does. But you don't prioritize 1 players development over the team winning.
