Sanheim with a ~35% Corsi tonight and on the ice for an empty net goal (-1). I see he has already figured out what it takes to get back in the lineup - YuenglingJagr

He looked fine. Him and Myers were ravaging in the o-zone. Team basically gave up after the first and sat on the lead.
It really is a savvy play though. After posting some top 10 in the league numbers, he needs to just go full Hagg. |

I do too. It sounds stupid, so sorry if it seems blatant, but the game really comes down to the Foles we see. Is he going to poop his pants and play like he did during some of those early games or play with ice in his veins like he did against the Vikings? My worry, on your end, would be even if he plays like that we still have a chance. I’m not so sure the Vikings were a good opponent to play before going into the super bowl. And I don’t mean that to take away from how dominant the Eagles look. I actually hated when the patriots would beat a team to death that they then had to play in the playoffs - it rarely worked out in our favor.
If I were a betting man, I’d take the Eagles and the points. Does that mean they win? I really don’t know. I’m not sure why people have the patriots as overwhelming favorites. This may be the worst patriots team to make a super bowl. - RickJames77
my worry is not foles. my worry is two-fold: the officiating and the pats having a chance to win the game with about 3 minutes to go. just like always.
i want an eagles win and i want to see brady hammered under the (frank)ing carpet. and i want to see belichick's (frank)ing face after the 00s. and kraft's. |

I agree with the line of scrimmage point. I will say, however, that the patriots defense is often severely underrated. I don’t have the stats and am not going to look it up (lazy) but they gave up the fewest points in the league during the last 8(?) regular season games. Something like that at least. I’d take the Eagles defense so I’m not sitting here saying ours is better or close. I just am not sure Foles can do enough against our defense to out score the pats and I think a lot of that has to do with Bellichick. That and we just faced Fournette, who we had to scheme for, who is a way better back than Ajayi or Blount IMO. So we won’t have to focus on the run as much. That being said, I would not be surprised if we lost. I think it’s going to be a great game and I’m for some weird reason a Boston sports pessimist (maybe because it’s worked and we win more than lose? Idk ) - RickJames77
foles can be horrendous. or he can be great. it is a legit question. i do think he'll be fine. when teams cancel one another out...that's where turnovers can be a factor. obviously not rocket science here. just stating the obvious. |

I agree that Foles is a big key but the Eagles have a legitimate chance because they have the best offensive and defensive line combined in football. Games are won and lost at the line of scrimmage. - MJL
This is coming from the man that literally said the Eagles were only a special team because of Wentz and that they weren't a contender after 11 Wentz down.

Agree GIG. Dougie P is a heck of an innovative offensive mind. He has adapted to Big Stick's strengths and the D (which has really been a top 5 D anyway) has been playing inspired football. Lane and the O-line are also maulers.
I saw that the Pats the have the 30th ranked pass D. What logic is there to say we can't do what we did to Minnesota on their bum's? The typical response is well Bellichek Brady durr.. There is a lot more to it than that.. if Atlanta didn't choke last year the narrative would be much different anyway.
Witnessing the Patriots go down will be such a cherry on top.

If we're using the jaguars game as a beacon for comparison. Eagles o line is significantly better with a more diverse play calling and 3 running backs who all bring something different. Fournette may be better than any single back but he's not better than our unit hence why we rushed for more yards in the regular season. Believe it or not foles actually gets the edge at qb over Blake bortles and bortles had some success before the overwhelming thought of actually beating the patriots kicked in. But again our offense comes down to we have a way better line and way more weapons.
As far as the defense the jaguars biggest problem in the 2nd half was a lack of depth. Patriots decided to start abusing those linebackers who couldn't cover the patriots speed backs and slot receivers. Eagles would in that scenario do the same thing they did vs the Vikings which was go 1 linebacker - bradham who is one of the best cover linebackers in football. They brought in 3 corners and 3 safeties and let jenkins play a more free flying center of the defense role where he acted as a linebacker/rover. This allowed him to cover Rudolph or cover missed coverages or dangerous routes as needed. They shut down the run with just the 4 linemen and bradham and continued to get pressure. It was a tremendous in game adjustment.
Not to mention all the eagles assistants who were thought to get head coaching jobs got passed up. Jim Schwarz with a chip on his shoulder in the Superbowl something to prove is a beautiful thought.
I think this is a real close game but trying to downplay the eagles chances is ridiculous. |
