Sanheim also talked about how he had been getting away from his game and was too focused on defensive side and not making mistakes.
Gordon talked about how he can log big minutes and also relax a bit and not worry so much about making a mistake.

What moves would you all line to see the Flyers make at the trade deadline assuming the standings are the same as they are now. Curious about names you would want to acquire or move not necessarily positions that they need to fill.
- johm12

Move Weise, Filppula, MacDonald, Lehtera, and Manning for pretty much anything.

Why?

So people in here will shut the frank up about them.

I'm sure Manning is better than Sanheim in many ways. Like playing basketball, or writing his name in the snow, or doing the moonwalk.

Observations:

- Not a good game but they go the 2 points. Huge game Thursday to try and take momentum and a good feeling into the break over the weekend.

- I am starting to come around to the Gostisbehere/Provorov pairing. Even though last night was rough for a lot of people, that pairing seems to be meshing well

- Elliott is terrible handling the puck. Almost cost him twice.

- hopefully the injury to Raffl isn't long term but if it gets Lindblom up it could help this team. Not saying he is a savior but I think his skill set will help the roster. Having another big body on the 2nd line and someone more of a shooter first type might help the 2nd line.

- Patrick is looking better and better.

- Still need more from Simmonds at 5 on 5. He seems to try too much with puck and he is not someone I really want carrying the puck out of the guys on that line.

- Lehtara is playing ok hockey. Better then Weise was.

3RD PLACE PHILADELPHIA FLYERS...who would have thought at the all star break we would be where we are right now.

He is staring at Hak, saying you should have put me out in OT earlier in the season.

Speaking of vet that gets leaned on...Dale Weise is praised often by the players

he doesn't play anymore and they are still doing well

- YuenglingJagr

I'd jettison him for Zac Rin...no.

Okay, I'd jettison him for the rights to Ilya Kovalchuk.

He also continues to make himself small and it nearly cost him a couple times last night.

Happy they won, even though they didn't deserve it. I'll take lucky over good every game.

One weird thing that doesn't matter: Travis Konecny has scored OT winners in back-to-back games. Both times, when his teammates came over to congratulate him, he almost looked pissed, or at least wasn't smiling. Not anything for concern, just something I noticed.

- jmatchett383

I don't know about the first time (I was too busy yelling in my living room to notice TK's reaction on Sunday), but last night, I chalked it up to: 1.) He was tired at that point of his shift....he said as much in his interview with Bundy after the game and, 2.) I thought he saw that the officials were discussing the play and maybe didn't want to get too excited if they overturned the goal.

Then he's obviously not ready for the NHL.

If they feel that anyone could fill in for Filppula, I wouldn't mind him moving on. I know he's a veteran that the kids can lean on, but he brings very little on-ice. But not sure they want Vecchionne or Laughton filling a middle-6 C spot.
- jmatchett383

Laughton does have the offensive ability to fill in at 3C.

That will not help. You know damned well that there will always be at least one whipping boy on this forum who is the sole reason why this team sucks and will never be a Stanley Cup contender.

Exhibit A: Vandevelde, Chris.

I thought Lehtara looked okay too. Had that initial 2v1 that turned into a 2v2 where he didn't look as slow as he normally does.

I don't understand it. He might have the best wrist shot on the team, and he has not been tried on the PP.

I think they are in a tough spot at the TDL where whoever they acquire should be below 30, but then that guy will block the rubs, frosts, vorobeyevs for the next years. . I guess that is the point of the TDL almost to get just rental players though...

I just looked up "Flyers roster" on Google and got this link

https://www.google.com/se...&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

That's the picture they chose to use for Nolan Patrick!?!?

I'm not interested until he reaches Lundqvist-level hair.

I don't think they will bring anyone in on a major deal at the TDL, tbh.

I think he has played solids hockey. He looks engaged, he has been getting in on the puck. He's playing more how I thought Weise would play.

Is it wrong that I would still trade Simmonds if I got a big offer even though we are in playoff position?

I actually think the Flyers could still be the same team or better depending on the return of a trade of Simmonds.

What player(s) specifically would you want to get for him?
