I don't know about the first time (I was too busy yelling in my living room to notice TK's reaction on Sunday), but last night, I chalked it up to: 1.) He was tired at that point of his shift....he said as much in his interview with Bundy after the game and, 2.) I thought he saw that the officials were discussing the play and maybe didn't want to get too excited if they overturned the goal. - johndewar
add in when you score an OT goal you get mugged by your teammates

I agree. But the quote the OP made was "I actually think the Flyers could still be the same team or better depending on the return of a trade of Simmonds."http://www.hockeybuzz.com/boards/post.php?thread_id=150028&forum_id=1"e=18360754
That is what I disagree with. They will not be the same or better if they swap one of those guys in for Simmonds this year. Years down the line, they MIGHT be. - jmatchett383

Alt is not better than Manning, c'mon man - YuenglingJagr
Manning tries to do too much and makes horrible mistakes because of it. Alt doesn't.
Plus it would get MacDonald back on his strong side, and give Hagg a partner who isn't a poor possession player. |

Alt is just a pooptier Manning. I think Sanheim and AMac should be the third pairing |

Which "advanced stats" in particular do you want? Because I can cherry pick certain ones to make one or the other look better depending on which side of the argument you're on. - jmatchett383

I would not make that trade |

Manning has a CF% of 49.95 with a RelCFl% of 0.64
Sanehim has a CF% of 54.07 with a RelCF% of 6.79
What these mean is that, when they're on the ice, the Flyers attempt 54.07% of the shots as opposed 49.95% when Manning is on the ice. It also means that Sanheim's team takes 6.79% more shots players are paired with him as compared to others as compared to 0.64% with Manning.
Manning has a .90 Pts/60, Sanehim has a 0.62.
Interpret that as you like. |

Because it's a horrible way to characterize someone. If I come out tomorrow and lie about you trying to take advantage of me sexually, does that make you a bad person? |

Right now with where the Flyer are I wouldn't mind taking on a guy like Maroon. Guy can play up and down the lineup. And if they plan to limit Goulbourne's minutes but want his type of play then Maroon could be a guy like that where you don't need to limit the minutes.
Also he can play a 2nd PP role in front of net and brings you playoff experience. He also can move up the lineup if needed if someone were to go down.
Now I don't offer anything huge since he is a pure rental(maybe could resign to a minimal deal if Simmonds is moved) but I think he has attirbutes this team could use, especially if this could be a playoff team. |

Jesse Puljujarvi, they guy with 22 points and 59 NHL games under his belt?
And Timo Meier, they guy with 23 points in 80 career NHL games?
I don't see how either of these players could replace Simmonds to make them better or the same. - jmatchett383
True. They don't yet, but doesnt change the fact I like both of their games. |

Puljujarvi has actually been playing well lately.
I like Simmonds. But watching this season, just my eyes, something is missing in his game. |

I don't think they play in a similar manner. The ManDog thinks he's a Rover, and it's ruff to watch. |

It is nearly impossible to get a guy that will be as good immediately and also get future considerations
the only way that happens is if the guy is on an expiring contract or expensive contract, or it is a young RFA the team trading him does not believe in
of the names mentioned, I don't see many guys that IMO teams have given up on. I would trade Simmonds for Necas straight up, but I doubt Carolina would do that. One other trade I would make, that actually makes some logical sense, is Simmonds for Paciorretty
Yeah it puts them in the same contract situation, but that is Shea Weber/PK Subban esque |

no, no, no he is always in position. I am not saying they play in a similar manner, just that they have the same skillset (with a slight edge to manning in offensive talent, if you can call it that) |
